Everyone thought Iceland was the next new nation to win Eurovision, but these last 2 entries worry me, this song would have done well in the 90's, but man everyone is so over this style of music. No chance this year, sadly ! None of the 5 finalists were original, so none of them would have stand a chance.
Vaeb would have been the only good choice out of that final. They would've had the chance to improve the vocals and the staging for the big night and it would have been a qualifier. This song will end up dead in the corner in some semi final.
This is decent. Her voice is amazing, she is confident, the arrangement is solid, it is quite tacky and cheesy but kind of in a semi-charming way. the staging is good but lacks impact and the lyrics are cute and charming. But to me it is just really solid and it doesn’t have much progression to it and it falls flat for a whole three minutes. This was not the expected entry for them to send as everyone in the fandom was betting on Bashar to win as he was Palestinian and the song was much better than this as it has more of a captivating vibe ot it that could’ve qualified them. This was honestly my second last in the selection so I clearly had lots of other favourites and I am kind of sad this won but can’t say I was surprised because she has gone before and already has a massive fan base so her win is not the most shocking. But this won’t qualify because the field is super strong this year and it will sadly get lost as a song without a revamp and even then it’ll struggle. It is a 6/10 for me, elevated by her strong voice and charisma.
I'm soooo dissapointed, I wan't to cry myself to sleep. Love Hera but this song is just really very bland and dated. We just made semifinal 1 much easier for the rest of the countries there. We sadly will never qualify with this 😭💔
Sorry what is the assumption that this isn't qualifying. It is literally one of only 2 songs this year up to now that has engaged me. A proper melody, great hook and chorus. She is my top 2 this year. The snobbery around being current and young with music really pisses me off. Music doesn't have a date expiry so what this 'dated' thing is supposed to mean I dont know. You dont stop listening to and enjoying music and especially the Eurovision Song Contest when you hit 35 you know. All these experimental, ridiculous, OTT, sombre, absurdist acts that are being sent repeatedly really stop engagement with this contest if im honest. As does the weird song structures, the builds that drop into nothing, the lack of a proper chorus. Finally a song is released that is a good solid pop track that builds and because a subset of the fandom has turned this contest into a political rally they would rather choose a mediocre song/performance with a story than celebrate actual proper music. And as is the usual with this subset of people, if something doesn't go their way they would rather burn everything down around them than submit that they're opinion/taste isn't divine. Im extremely happy Hera won. Love her, love the song and I hope this does really well
@@Fassonista Well semifinal 1 is (still) "the death semi", and a song really needs to stand out to qualify from it, which this unfortunately does not, in any way. Very bland & generic. Sorry Iceland, but selmasbjornsdottir5204 is quite right :( (my sympathies!!)
As an Icelander I must explain this: When two acts have been chosen for a superfinal, it is always the young generation of the capital vs the older generation of the countryside when it comes to choosing a winner. The countryside won this time, just because they didn't want a foreign artist to represent the country. Absolutely shocking
That does sounds like a very odd assumption, starting with the fact that normally both countryside and capital have both older and younger people, in every country... It's not as if one place had only one generation, impossible 😅 And maybe Icelanders didn't want to be mere pawns in that political play, in sending the predicted Palestinian candidate, and if so, I salute them! (Even if this song isn't quite on Eurovision level.)
Thank you, Iceland, from Ireland

You're extremely correct for this
Hera is a great performer but the song is literally Embers 2.0. there were better options in the final even if Iceland didn't want to send Bashar.
I love Hera Björk but this song didn't even get me listen to it in the end. =/ Very sad.

I can't be the only one hearing nothing but "baby I'm sorry...not sorry" when the chorus drops...right? 😅
I thought they were sending a Palestinian? o.0 I didnt expect Iceland to send a gospel. Unsure if this will qualify
I love Hera❤ she is so amazing 😍
I like Hera Björk but not this song. 😐
It's catchy. I'm glad it won.
I'm soooo dissapointed, I wan't to cry myself to sleep. Love Hera but this song is just really very bland and dated. We just made semifinal 1 much easier for the rest of the countries there. We sadly will never qualify with this 😭💔
Can't be that bland if it won. It's catchy as.

I expected it. Hera had the best song

Oh wow that's so interesting and also disappointing
maybe the older generation actually likes this song? It sounds like they would (the song sounds a bit dated) so why make assumptions..
It’s not an assumption, its a fact
@@alexandergunnarsson1537you don’t know what a fact is, it’s just your assumption because you can’t speak for everyone…
