Great notes Andy. Really need to try more Hazelburn. Like you say, it deserves more love and attention.

I got hit with big beautiful lemon oil/grapefruit right off the bat, and it really unrolled nicely after. I see the Deanston 12 similarity, with this one being brighter, more citrusy, and less malty. Excellent and unique, but price climbing quickly.

Love adding a splash of Ardbeg 10 into Hazelburn 10

      Ooh, rebel!
To be fair I like adding Ardbeg 10 to most things.

It's Nc'Nean weather for me atm. I'm doing my best to hold off on any more buying for the next wee while - I feel I've gone a bit too hard over lockdown.

Great timing Andy - just tried my first Hazelburn last week and I absolutely loved it. Tends to be overshadowed by Springbank and Longrow but it's a really wonderful dram.

Great review Andy I'm lucky enough to have this one and your right great dram Ralfy said its one to leave to let it breath as it keeps giving and he's right but I can't lol I enjoy it to much. The 13 Oloroso is also a great dram keep them coming mate stay safe 👍

HB can be stunning - a single cask 20 year old for germany was a tropical fruit bomb, then a rechar 10 single cask for the UK was superb. The annual sherry cask releases are very nice. An cage bottles in FB or RB = superb!!

Great video Andy. I have found the lower aged hazelburns go under the radar at auctions. I have bought one for £35 and another for £40 recently. Think I paid £65 for the 13 Sherry. I know there are fees as well on top of this but I don’t think I have ever had a better whisky than this for under the £40 range.

Nice review. Seems that springbank is the way to go for many people.
