I‘m just gonna repurchase my shorts I sold a few days before the earnings call. Time for this to go down to 120 a stock so I can get back in again. To me this all sounds just like background buzzing. I don‘t see any significant revenue coming through these streams in the next years. Will probably start trading again next week.
Wait for it, typical promises nothing new, he knew the results were bad so to stop the stock dipping he had to do something. Great trick and people fr for it every time.
A lot of what you are saying about Tesla you could say the same about Nio. Subscription.. Baas,swapping, phone, lifestlye brand, power lending to grids etc. Nio licensed to forseven their tech. Can you do a similar nio video. A lot of parallels here. Beijing auto show tomorrow...what say you.
NIO hasn’t executed on any of that and is in a lot more fragile position.

Problem is Tesla never mentioned a Model 2, Gen 3 or sub $30k vehicle coming soon. People are just reading that into it.
Announcing a $25K car coming in the near term is likely to cut into Model 3 sales for the foreseeable future. If the $25K car slips into 2026 it could impact sales this year and next putting greater pressure on revenues.
what happens when a self driving car kills someone. who pays up the legal bills to the family. Telsla ? the insurance co >? will they even insure a self driving car ?
Insurers have underwriters, so the risk gets spread. Tesla has an insurance business, but most likely sells most of the risk on.
It's not only about supply... what if the demand for EV's in general is declining?

It’s been said that Tesla is battery constrained. So if we see a drop in car sales are we not going to see an increase in the other product that Tesla sales.

Maybe the stock price around $140 was already reflecting poor earnings call. Other than that, I don't see why we would see such a big jump in stock price. 2025 may be a better year for long side.
Nothing on the call really addressed slowing down of sales. EV sales dropping is a macro issue and not just Tesla issue.
Sure lowering prices may help drive sales, but margins will suffer.
Bottom line is high growth is slowing. Sure it's likely temporary, but I would be hesitant to keep Tesla at a high multiple until the light at the end of the tunnel is clearer.
I don't see this earnings call turning the downward trend of stock price around. I'll wait until it gets into oversold territory again and around bottom of bollinger band before thinking of selling PUTs.
Definitely staying away from playing long side for now.
Long road ahead for this robotaxi self drive to be legal world wide. No less than 10 years. Pretty good chance that Tesla drops to 120 this year.

Robotaxi that will not materialise in the next few years. Tesla price will drop. Ill remind you and rub your nose in it. Sub 120 by august. Bidenomics is not good for car sales.

compared to other ev makers they had pretty good sales... i dont trust anyone on the market anymore thats why i made money on the earnings call and told noone that i was bullish...

Tesla is still a meme stock. Model 3 cannibalised Model S sales, a Model 2 would do the same with Model 3 sales. Full Self Drive/ Robotaxis will cannibalise the lot. Maybe the Tesla Robot is a money spinner , maybe.

Yep. Surprised on the big jump up after earnings.
Downtrend in stock price is still intact for what I can see. I don't see EV sales turning around in a quarter or two without big price cuts.
Best to DCA for long haul. No telling how low stock price can go once fear sets in. Sentiment has turned and price will overcorrect from emotion and fear.
Fingers crossed will get an opportunity to accumulate much lower than $140.

Tesla isn't the only car company that makes EVs. So does Ford, General Motors, Toyota, and Volkswagen.

Yes on a loss of $40k/vehicle, and they are pulling out of investments on EVs and going in with hybrids, plus TESLA IS NOT JUST A CAR COMPANY, we are not in it for the cars
