Gays tend to be educated, skilled or professional, and wealthier than their straight counterparts. Wealthy, educated, wealthy people tend to gravitate toward the coasts....and BLUE states.
It's not just Texas. It's all of the US LGBT people make up way more then only 3 percent of the countries population. People always forget to think about those in the closet, or those whom are in denial. As well as those who sleep with the same sex but refuse to identify with a "label".
You should do the most frightening states - not due to crime - but cryptic legends, historic witch burnings, devil worship, haunted houses, paranormal events, UFO sightings, etc.

And i hate it when people say that im lying and putting on a front to try cover up that im bi. There shouldn't be expectations and things that ur supposed to like and do because of who ur attracted to.
Find some new friends / places to hang out - not necessarily easy I know but you aren't alone in this at all. It can take some effort and trial and error but you should be able to find a community that works for you.

Florida has a lot of gays but a lot of them will be migrating elsewhere because of the backwardness that DeSantis is promoting. For example he’s discouraging tech companies from relocating because their workers are highly educated and therefore very likely to vote Democrat. Florida’s on a backward trajectory.

The problem with stats like these are that it's based on self reporting. I'm sure if there was a way to figure out the number of closeted gay people in each state, the percentages would be much closer. After all, it's much easier being gay in Vermont than in Tennessee.
