  • For her Canterbury Scholars project at Santa Clara University, Nadine Koochou ’24 centers her Assyrian American identity in a series of poems and creative nonfiction. Inspired by a lifelong love of reading, Koochou strives to create the types of stories that she wishes she could’ve read as a child. In this audiogram, Koochou shares the poem My Grandma’s Apartment, which explores language and love in her family’s history.
