Some might say the pinnacle of ambient guitar recording is John Martyn's Small Hours, which was recorded across a lake at 3am in the morning. This plug has a similar feel and sense of space. Love it.

I bought my Fender Jazz in Denmark St. also my Creative Emulator X 1820m (in 2004) which I still have....awesome! Great VST as well.....🥰
Honesty is a rare quality. I really appreciate that Theo is talking about that his first choice of guitar didn’t work out because of technical problems. Someone else would have forgone the mention of this episode of the project and claimed “out of 1225 guitars tested the Gibson stood out and was the clear winner for the purpose of our special project”.
And thanks Christian for not editing that part out and posting this video as is!

This has a similar backstory to The Stack, which ended up becoming my favorite sample library and my main composing workhorse. If there's more to come from these recording sessions, I'm sure it will be amazing

loving this!! I downloaded it yesterday, but didn't actually have a chance to hear it until now. it's really, really lovely!! (& seeing & hearing the story behind it is really cool. though I'm sorry it was such an accidentally--ot incidentally--expensive endeavour.) the truth is, I really loathe shimmer reverbs. I'm happy that I suspended, or dispelled (or whatever) my judgement, because this is not the shimmer that I know & loathe. this is something beautiful & special. & I do greatly appreciate you all sharing it with the rest of us music-makers.

Lovely sounds, and even though I’m a guitarist myself I’m sure I will end up using them. The thing that surprises me, though, is the whole ‘booking one of the country’s top studios & then being forced to cancel.’
This isn’t the first amazing library Christian’s created that had a similar provenance. Does this happen a lot?
My experience with music-for-picture has always been confined to my home setup. I have had a couple of gigs where the client decided to go a different way and paid me half-rate or something as a cancellation fee - the idea of writing off 4 days’ worth of studio time in somewhere like Air blows my mind.
I’ve gotta say, too, I have always appreciated Christian’s propensity to give away amazing sounds that others might be tempted to charge for… I hope he’s earning a LOT from the jobs that do come off!!

Re the recording. Was it not possible to isolate the guitar in a space outside the hall? I am not complaining however, just curious.

Gorgeous sound! In the video, it seems the sound is playing the instant the keys are pressed, but when I play (and also play back the midi) there is a slight delay.. similar to the vaults piano plugin with the tight control set low. It's throwing me off and I have to shift the midi slightly backwards to compensate. Am I the only one experiencing this?

First let me commend you for the amazing instruments you're putting out for the price of zero. Really awesome. I wanted to offer a suggestion with Vaults. There is no option to download only the libraries that you want. Right now there are only few libraries that don't take up much space, but in the future that number will increase. Are you guys planning to implement a method to choose the libraries to download? The next suggestion was on the installer and if you can design the installer to detect a previous installation and install over it automatically instead of choosing the location everytime.

I find all the Vault instruments are too quiet, even at max velocity, and not sure why the volume control is at 9 by default so you can't turn it up? frustrating ...
Please remove the online requirement to install.
