That’s exactly it, it’s not just a beautiful house but so wonderfully quirky - the tower used to be the toilet (the fanciest toilet in town?!) - you can see the old stone drain crossing the courtyard (now a fountain water feature); there’s a space tucked away inside a stone wall intended for storing salt; then there’s that hatch in the floor to the caves..that then have a doorway to the well, super interesting place.
Absolutely, it’s easy to see how the owners have stayed there for 22 years! It’s a really cute little town too, Charroux 86250 (as there’s another with the same name) if you want to search for it 🙂
