i mainly agree with pop and nxde
For pop I don't see anything innovating in the song and it just feels like a generic cute concept, I just think as a song they didn't put that much effort and just tried to make the chorus sound good instead of all the song togheter
In the other hand nxde was also overrated by just the concept but the song itself doesn't go anything well, most of the song is pretty forgettable and the only part that i might like is the post-chorus, i don't find nxde a good comeback and it might be their worst title track with latata imo.
The rest of the songs put in the playlist like flip that or hush rush I don't find them overrated, because most of people think they are weak songs.

totally agree with everything you said about pop and nxde! i think nxde is a song people praised for its concept, but if you listen to the song by itself it really doesn't stand up against gidle's other songs

I personally only disagree with Pop and Brand New. While yes pop as the title tracks is not really on par like it's just mid, I think this track make sense for nayeon it pretty much represents her personality. I do agree about the rap sections feel unnecessary because it's not needed for a song like this and I also agree that the chorus wasn't that good because of its tiktok part of the chorus with the repetitive pops used as a transition from the chorus to the verse 2. I think the raps aections have a nice pacing and I think it's used to brighten up the listening experience but it's not necessary for a song like this. The reason why I disagree about Pop being an overrated comeback is because of the b-sides. The b-sides are cohesive and fits the musical image Nayeon is potraying which is K-Rnb with tracks like Love Countdown and Happy Birthday feel very light and bright as well as Sunset being a disney like ballad which it's elegent ambience from its jazzy feel and influence within the track and still manages to stay consistent within the musical image without straying away. As for Brand New, I understand that the vocal effects can sound irritating and grating to the listener however I personally disagree because I actually like the song and it didn't bother new too much. The song just feels elastic to me, idk why but i am getting these kinda vibes. The album is also fine and I really like How We Do which was my top 5 K-pop b-side of 2022. So I don't get it being an overrated comeback.
I personally think all of idle's comebacks, all of IVE's comeback, NCT Dream's Beatbox and Taeyeon's comeback are overrated as well as, I would like to include the song Feel My Rhythm being an overrated song not the comeback. Ths comeback was fine but it's the title track.

omg not the feel my rhythm slander 😭😭but i totally agree with you that the bsides on nayeon's debut album were really great, especially the one with the wonstein feature! this whole album really outshown the title imo, and this is coming from someone who rarely saves twice's bsides. i do have to disagree about taeyeon though, i think invu has gotten better over time. i think the production is overall very atmospheric, and once you get over the expectation of kpop songs having to be maximalist and high energy, the charms of invu become more evident

@jekyll_hyde_ Tbh, INVU was fine, but I feel like it's very tame and monotonous and needs to tighten a bit more with a faster tempo and dynamics. It feels flat. I say it's overrated because of the b-sides. The b-sides sound similar in its composition and arrangements, and they just meander in its runtime. In terms of its theming, the tracks are cohesive but if you isolate every track, they are just inoffensive and unmemorable. Feel My Rhythm just feels derivative and disjointed with sections from the intro to Joy's viral part to the chorus to the key change. The classical X-classical string throughout the track doesn't sound like Red Velvet. It's sounds more like an orchestral piece but an elevated version of it and it lacks the original spark of Red Velvet's duality from tracks that are sassy like Really Bad Boy and Dumb Dumb or tracks that feel lush like Automatic. These tracks showcase the duality of Red Velvet and Feel My Rhythm doesn't imo. I totally get the hype Feel My Rhythm is getting because of the styling and striking concept as well as nostalgia but I think it's just not clicking well with me.
