I hear ya, Caleb really made the songs for Decyfer Down for me with his vocals, and i was a bit skeptical back when i heard they had TJ in his place, but after hearing his version of 'Fading' i can honestly say that he's a perfect fit. I'm really hopeful for the band with T.J., but I wish Caleb was still around too...
Caleb we miss you so much! Decyfer Down needs you! they can't write music or put half as much emotion as you do behind your lyrics and vocals like you do! Come back now!
Decyfer Down is one of my favorite bands, but I miss Caleb Oliver. Took me a while to get used to T.J. being the new singer. Few bands have been successful when making changes with the frontman, but D.D. is clearly making waves with T.J. My only regret is that I never saw them live with Caleb. I'm def. looking forward to the 2015 tour. God bless
It has been confirmed that Decyfer Down had already recorded the entire album (except for the songs Desperate and Moving On) with Caleb's Vocals, before he left. They were already selling those as signed, physical, pre-ordered copies. But they are nowhere to be found on the internet! Anyone who has those recordings, please stop being such a saint and anti-piracy person. Sure, you paid for them, it's your choice to not upload them. But honestly, the world deserves to listen to those tracks! Yeah, people are gonna download them for free and Decyfer Down won't get any money out of it. But still, do it. Have some humanity! Genuine request, ain't gonna sugarcoat it! Also, anyone who has Decyfer Down's Acoustic EP (released to people who supported their latest campaign), and acoustic version of Anchor Me (also released to people who supported their latest campaign), please go ahead and upload those. Stop keeping music off the internet! It's all treasure!
Wait its so I can take.. and every single day... A part of my soul is fading... but now, by letting go somehow, unshackled and unbound... I’m calling out your name, I’m fading.....
In a better timeline, Caleb left Decyfer Down after the album's release and all Crash songs have his vocals in studio versions, then a few months later TJ replaced him and released a rerecorded version of the album with his vocals.
yeah i think its caleb in this vid cause hes out front playin bass. and i dont think they said if tj can do bass and sing. it definately sounds like calebs signature voice tho.
i just saw a video that was taken at xfest and it looked like they took out caleb and replaced him with a lead singer and a new bassist. someone get back to me on that cuz i hope he didnt get replaced he was awesome.
I think it's hard to decide who's better. Decyfer Down will always be Caleb but we gotta accept what we've been given. It could have been a lot worse. I think TJ is really the best they could have done at replacing Caleb.
IM FROM THE FUTURE! in 2013 they made another album called "scarecrow"the drummer eventually left. but in 2014 the drummer and guitarist were producers of an EP called "black and white" by Revely. in 2016 they released "other side of darkness" and an acoustic ep. their lead guitarist no longer tours with them but still does studio recordings. and they have a album planned for 2018
@KaiserFilmProduction This is very true, I often ask myself, why couldn't some churches play some (Rock) or perhaps even some (Rap) music, as long as it's Christ centered? The (style) of music shouldn't be a problem just as long as the (Song) or the (Lyrics) involved is about Christ or even about things dealing with personal issues. (Rock, Metal, Rap) etc are all styles of music, but it's like the church for some reason shuns against those kind of styles of music, which I find is very strange.
So Caleb was the singer when they recorded this song, and he's not with the band anymore? That stinks. He's one of the reasons I like these guys so much. He sounds so much like Chris Cornell. In fact when I first heard this song that's who I thought it was.
@demondager. So true so true. My church family (not my REAL family because we all have the same taste in music) would all have a heart attack in a flash if they heard this song. Sheesh what am I saying. "promise of a lifetime" by kutless would upset them.
Yeah and I mean really... You all have to think about it like this at this point. This is still the music business even though this is christian music. Right now, I would say that TJ is at the "hired gun" status. What if Caleb gets all his problems worked out? His brother is still the drummer, I wouldn't rule out Caleb coming back at some point.
@@j.d.dunsmore196 why would this prevent him from being in the band, though? I thought I read he had some personal issues that were causing him difficulties too. Does he have a facebook, instagram? Decyfer Down just doesn't seem the same without him. I love their music.
I then did some better searching, and found out he is now a pastor at a church. ruclips.net/video/trrbZ7PVygs/видео.html And I believe this is him performing a song for the same church. ruclips.net/video/NGVpDehT7ls/видео.html

I’d pay a lot of money to hear the studio version of this song with Caleb on Vocals.
I used to have it as an mp3 cuz they released it for something, but I can't find any traces of it anymore 😩
@@djrock93 And what do you think, which version sounds better?
Me too
@@daedalus8097 just the background vocals. TJ is the lead.
This is the real Decyfer Down.
Yeah for sure Caleb is my fav vocalist

after hearing this song with their new singer , gotta say the new singer is pretty good

don't forget their 2018 album
i'm gonna see them for the first time this friday... sooooo excited!!!

Ik the same thing happens with sins of a divine mother and their lost 4 songs
And all of those rerecording of broken
This just makes the anticipation for the band's new album Crash in early 09 more exciting.
Wait its so I can take.. and every single day... A part of my soul is fading... but now, by letting go somehow, unshackled and unbound... I’m calling out your name, I’m fading.....
"It's all that I can take", not "So"
I want the version of him singing it.
Another great song. I wish they would've put more songs on the ep. Get it on iTunes
LF>Calebs recording of this song... I miss caleb!!
I think this guy is a better singer than the new singer I saw in other videos.
i wish i had his voice :(
In a better timeline, Caleb left Decyfer Down after the album's release and all Crash songs have his vocals in studio versions, then a few months later TJ replaced him and released a rerecorded version of the album with his vocals.
Not a vid of him singing for a live show, but from the recording off their new album. There's tons of vids of youtube for his version
Amen brotha.
@ZapMxl yeah it does with a little bit of nero as well.
yeah i think its caleb in this vid cause hes out front playin bass. and i dont think they said if tj can do bass and sing. it definately sounds like calebs signature voice tho.
@114207 he got married and wanted a real job, thats why he left DD

yall can say i like caleb or i like TJ but i just like decyfer down period :)
They're both good
I love TJ cuz he was the first Decyfer Down voice I heard (my first song was Fading).
But after hearing the first album, I like Caleb a bit more.

where did you find a video with TJ singing?
i cant find any
(something random)
Here Caleb's voice before the song reminds me Dante from DMC 4 :P
or at least the songs from DMC 4
The only replacement was the lead vocalist. All of the other original members are still in the band.

So sad the only original member that will tour with DD is Brandon Mills.
@@j.d.dunsmore196 i think chris is still with them . On the albums at least

Caleb was so much better
Caleb puts emotion in the songs, something I have yet to hear from TJ.
just listen to to "Other Side of Darkness" and say that again.
Are you insane ... T.J. Is all emotion and believes what he sings . But you are right about Caleb also , he’s an awesome singer!!
