Great advice, we were in the same predicament 10 years ago. This was the best thing we ever did. Now in retirement we breathe and thank GOD every day. Just do it!!!

Soo ..... his wife is the one with brains, but he's projecting his insecurities on her and calls in to say she's dumb, all while giving credit to his son who just listens to his mom's advice and repeats it back to the OP guy. Nice.
If your tax rate goes from 12% to 22% by pulling out, DON'T DO IT! Don't pay 10% extra when your interest rate is probably 3% on the house.
Bingo. I'm listening to this thinking taxes? What about the taxes? All to pay on a house that likely has a very low interest rate.....I don't understand what the huge deal with that little bit of debt when he has more than enough to pay it off. Whats the worry about?
