Chassis is already rusty.. why don't the factory just raptor coat chassis. Like seriously. With the price they are charging for a 4c4 these days. The least they can do is make the chassis last 4 yrs like the old ones did.
I agree mate It has lived alot of its life on the beach but it is poor. I'm sure people would be happy to pay an extra $500 For the option. I would love to gal dip it 👌

From memory I used the jack to push them back up
HI guys. So the old blue service brake wire gets REPLACED with the new Tow Pro blue wire ? As in the old blue service brakes wire just doesn't get re-connected ?
Hey mate I just ran a new one so it was a bigger diameter wire as I couldn't track down the original one in the footwell. Had to run a spare wire to my canopy anyway
wow a scotch clip ,a big no no and a fuse def a bigger no no should be a circuit breaker and running to the brake switch on a car with a body control module a big no no cable tie module with some silicone wow you did not read the manual that comes with it and 4 hours it took you to do it all wrong ????

@@outerlimits583 unfortunately Paul makes some good points, he's just a dick about it. You should change to a circuit breaker, if there's a short in the system you will get intermittent braking, rather than zero if a fuse pops. Also blade fuse holders don't have sufficient contact area for high current loads, usually results in melting fuse holders then fire, google and you'll find plenty of pictures. Wiring to the brake light switch is fine, its where the Ford accessory fitting manual recommends, I would ditch the scotch lock and solder though.

Handy video, very straightforward job. Mate, I'm a former mechanic (donkeys years ago) and just wanted to point out that I hope you're not still using Bessa bricks to support your vehicle at home. They have no tensile strength and can break without warning. It was very common in my day to hear of someone being crushed doing "backyarders" with cars supported by bricks. Safety stands were very expensive then but these days you can pick up a couple of 3000 kg stands from Supercheap (for example) for about $100.
Only used as a backup with the jack as well as tyre under sill

All these redarc videos are made by Australians and for the life of me I can't listen to their accents, it makes me cringe and I can't follow, sorry, don't mean to be judgmental, I tried three videos and I can't do it.....moving along.

The Ford Ranger wiring in Australia is slightly different to the US version. I believe there is a pre-instaled wire in the Ranger made for the US market maked TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER behind the A-Pillar for the electric brake controller, as Shaun Chilton metioned in his earlier comment. So not worth looking at how Aussies wire it. For the US version check this video for the install instructions ruclips.net/video/iKpTworZF7I/видео.html which show the pre installed wires at 3:56 in the video.

Hey mate, good video, does you indicator flash fast on dash after install? My vehicle is a 2020 ranger! I rang redark and they said I need there wiring kit to fix it, did you put any diodes or anything in? We have got the brake switch wire connected to the brake lights in trailer plug! Look forward to your reply?
Definitely not, Are you sure you haven't touched the indicator wire in the plug at all?

From my understanding you are supposed to use the Ranger/Everest specific wiring kit as this will work with the autonomous braking and adaptive cruise. Have you heard about this?
Yes cost a fortune but. And the normal one I'm sure will not allow the use of cruise control as a safety feature

Great video, thanks for creating it. Confirming you only have to run 1 'blue wire' to the rear of the car to go into pin 5 to have electric brakes? ie; pins 8,9,10,11,12 you didn't use at all? I got a PX ranger as well and can't find bugger all on the internet, apart from your video.
That's correct Some models already have the wire running to the back you just need to locate and wire onto it. Can also buy and adaptive harness but this is costly. And if you have experience why not save a few $$$

Hi when you put the lower control arm bolts back in as well as the strut bottom bolt did you tighten them up when the car was back on the ground or did you tighten them with the suspension suspended just stuck on that part cheers
I did it in the air but took it straight to get a wheel alignment so they undone and adjusted to suit 👌

There is a pre-installed wire that is located behind the A-Pillar kick panel down near the bonnet release and is marked TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER, did you use that at all. Its white with a blue stripe.
Na mate couldn't find it and couldn't find out where it was so ran a new one. On the plus side I can use cruise control by not using it lol
Think I'm gonna give up looking for this mysterious preinstalled wire in my px2, been looking for a good hour!
Bit late but it's down by the trailer plug at the back. If you follow it up behind the wheel arch where it plugs into a harness. Peel the tape and Corri off the male plug and the blue wire is there.

How is the ride quality, is it comfortable or more on the stiffer side?
Went more on the stiffer side mate, even after I put on the bull bar and winch I would probably not get the heavy duty next time.
Excellent informative video bro. I just did the same install today (px2 ranger outback armour 2 inch shocks) all you gotta do is undo upper control arm ball joint & with a long bar on lower control arm to lever it down slightly you can get them out & in via the top (way faster) Don't need to undo stub axle nut either. 20mins per side, Chur

You won't be disappointed mate if fitted right these bars are solid as. Few comments about cramp powdercoating on them but they are super solid.

Hey mate yes all mounted all you need to do is pull off front grille and the winch will slide straight down. No need to pull bar off. I'll have to make a bracket for winch control box as I can't seem to find a good spot for it.
Superb video. I just added new 40mm lift coils to my PX1 and this vid turned a hard job into an easy one.

Great video mate. Really helpful. Out of interest for someone on a budget are the spacers good for a quick temporary lift? No off-roading being done.
Hey mate thanks. Yes I ran 32mm spacers which gave me a 3inch lift and had no dramas a diff drop is probably the safest bet. I'm lucky to do 5000klms a year but I would think twice if I didn't have a work Ute to drive. Hope this helps 👌

Yes mate but not by much probably 15-20mm easy to go down with a bit of pipe and a c spanner. Maybe take the weight of the truck with a jack to go up and some grease on the thread I haven't tried up though, then a wheel alignment might be needed

Looks killer mate! Thanks for the vid. I’m installing the chaser bar on my ranger hopefully next week so great bit of info and a bit of a guide. Did you mount the bar by your self? How did you go fitting the winch after install? I was told it needed to be done during bar install. Thank again mate

Way easier way, just get yourself a 34mm socket undo stub axle push, undo upper control arm, sway bar link and then everything just comes out. Then reverse to put it back in. But as mentioned all goes together firm then once back on the ground go around and tighten down. Also good practice to undo brake line aswell. The clip just pulls out
Just an fyi, you should tighten the lower strut bolt when it's at ride height. Just so it doesn't pre load the rubber bush and tear it out at full up travel
Only had to drive 2klm down the road then got re-done with the alignment
Nice video mate just wounding wouldn't it be easier to just undo the top ball joint and pop it then you should have be able to just pull the stub-axle down and get the strut out that way.. Saves undoing the bottom control arm and affecting the wheel alignment.. Just a little trick i used to do when changing struts when i was a mechanic it takes about 20min less a side 2 less bolts and no tie-downs required and doesn't affect your wheel alignment.. Just giving you something to think about trying next time you change struts. Good well explained video I've way anyhow' s bud🙂
Hey mate Yes always learning. Did that also work when installing larger springs? As that's the only way I could get them out plus the total geometry changes so I'm sure you cannot change height without a wheel alignment, correct me if I am wrong though 👍
Yeah you are right would still need to get a wheel alignment after the job is done but it doesn't affect the original alignment buy doing it the way i said.. You may have to take the main nut off the drive shaft to take it out of the stub-axle so it doesn't pull you shaft out just so you can get the bottom arm down enough to get the strut in and out but i use to do up to 2/4inch lifts like that without no problem and it is much easier then the way you did it.. Not saying you did the job wrong mate just making a suggestion to help you out in the future to make job easier for you if you ever need to do it again 😉

Yea mate, grease up the thread and get a c spanner with an extra bit of pipe as a lever. Would hate to go back up though

Yea mate happy as and so strong. Some bars you can give a bash and they wobble, this thing is just a solid thud 💪

How about a review on how the ranger drives with the new suspension?
Yet to do a video but to be %100 honest I didn't notice a ride difference but I did get the HD springs and am waiting to get the winch in for a bit more front end weight. I guess the real test will be when we are allowed to hit the tracks 👌
how much thread is on the adjustable spring seat?
Only 5mm but 5mm equates to like 15-20 with the spring compression

No mate I think they used to but don't include it anymore, sucks hey 😥
