I'm going through that as well and it often feels like they are someone who has passed away that's still living. I'm not an expert and I'm still figuring it out myself so grain of salt of course. It's not wrong to love them, but it's how you do so going forward. Letting them go is sometimes the most loving thing, though it's also the hardest.

Why is it a problem that he rejected you when you said you weren't "feeling it" even though spent $ on you. Shy up until then. He is not the problem. I'm sure you're young, but you need to reevaluate yourself. Also, males tend to complain about rejection openly because it happens to them initially. Women get rejected later or while the guy is still with them. So the only difference is the timeline, not frequency. This means even though there might not be blatant videos of women discussing rejection, they express it when they talk about cheating, breakups, or divorce. Usually the male does not want to be the one to end the dynamic. He wants her to do it so it doesn't come off like he's rejecting her. That's where the misconception comes from.
