I know why the Budd M3s don't go to this station, because those trains can fit through the 63rd Street Tunnel, but the M3s aren't compatible with the new stations signaling and safety systems.

The DE30s, DM30s and Kawasaki C3 cab cars cannot fit in the 63rd Street Tunnel because they are too big.

So therefore, either the Bombardier M7s or the Kawasaki M9s can serve this station.

The M7s are new, but not as new as the M9

The M7s entered passenger service in 2002 and the M9s enter passenger service in 2019.
