READ THIS BOOK IF YOU NEED A MOTHER'S LOVE-The Jinn Daughter- A Marxist Review || LiteraryLiberation
hey just a heads up, the audio is really bad on this ep and I could barely make out what you two were saying :( I'm not sure if you're aware or not, but I'm commenting just in case
I’m not sure on our end everything sounds okay 😅 idk how to fix this.
Says person who never lived in a communist or ex communist country.
60% of Russians regret it
i highly recommend the book "two centuries of silence"
I'm really hoping that if there is a robot revolution it's more like a bender being mad over for skynet being mad, like difference would be between incredible convenience and world ending dread.
This video has two views. You know this is about to be a lovely video 😌
💯
Well, if you’d bother to read the text, it would make a bit more sense. It’s clear that ‘Left-Wing Liberalism’ in this case refers to the good ol’ centre left, while the text under ‘Left Liberalism’ obviously describes what we nowadays call ‘wokeness’; with a hard focus on equity (forced equality of economical, educational etc outcomes between the different races, genders, sexualities etc) rather than the equality of the old school libs. Wokeness is obviously pretty hard left. Thus, it’s placed where it is on the political scale in your book.
I FINALLY found a book where the main characters don’t have plot armor. Probably the only book out there too
Try... Nehru's India: Past Present and Future
cool stuff 👍🏾👍🏾
I WANTED TO CRY MY EYES OUT
The video is very interesting! Something I don't understand: I have USDT in my OKX wallet and I have the recovery phrase. {pride}-{pole}-{obtain}-{together}-{second}-{when}-{future}-{mask}-{review}-{nature}-{potato}-{bulb}: How should I convert them into Bitcoin?
wtf I read Haddix as a child through Found/Missing Book Series I had no idea
Fr tho and like imagine one day her son asks who all she’s been with that would be awkward even as fiction
Also...You SHOULDN'T force children into ideology...Propaganda is literally a prejurative term...
Correct! Which is why we should teach them accurate history about the world and combat the neoliberal propaganda they’re already being taught in school 👍
Lol you literally consume so much...Your rooms are filled with merch, figurines and unecessary decoration.. I'm a proud capitalist, yet i'm much more minimalist/materialist then most comunists i meet...You are proof of that... Bet you won't even vote for Kamala because she's still not far left...Even though literal DEMOCRACY and WOMEN'S RIGHTS are on the ballot... Yeah if Trump wins, we'll see how long Palestine survives (hint, Trump has literal settlements in the Golam Heights named after him)
So communism is when you don’t have decor? What’s the point you’re trying to make?
@LiteraryLiberation Yeah Funko Pops are decor....Not materialist items... Sure, until they get boycotted for something stupid and you decide it's suddenly Western Propaganda...
You guys were killing me when you realized you interpreted the “magic” and Sam’s reality completely differently 😭 I just finished Bunny after reading bits and pieces of it over 7 months. So maybe that’s why I don’t find it as confusing as most people do? I had more time to sit with it and let it wash over me? I’m not sure but I find it relatively straightfoward despite (or maybe because of) its absurdism. I think this is a book that you have to meet where it’s at, and take a face value tbh. I never even considered that the magic wasn’t real (and Mona Awad talks about it with zero ambiguity so I believe it to be ‘true’) There is definitely a psychological aspect to it all in that these women are manifesting these living beings from themselves. Ava and Max are extensions of Sam (even down to their 3-letter names). I viewed them as her Id and superego respectively (I also got Fight Club vibes for sure), but still real and independent (sort of). These creations are obviously metaphors for The Work, their writing. They literally call their Bunny Boys ‘drafts’. And the Bunnies’ failure to create whole beings is an indication that Samantha’s craft is purer than theirs. I find it really funny that Samantha basically created her own manic pixie dream girl. I got the vibe early on that she was kind of unknowingly in love with Ava and was pleased to see that suspicion affirmed later on in the book, even if it was never fully realized 💔 Ultimately I consider this book to be about profound loneliness and creation. While sort of satirizing MFA culture. I don’t see the twist or ‘point’ of anything being mental illness/neurodivergence at all. I liked Jonah as a character and you guys are right (though I disagree about Foscoe/Ursula, I think she was completely disingenuous, illustrated by her basically using one of the Bunny Boys as a coaster), in that he was perfectly kind to Sam and seemed to try and make a connection with her but she was completely oblivious, or maybe incapable of receiving his companionship. At least, until the end. She seemed genuinely struck by Jonah referring to himself as her friend. I think this realization and her extending an invitation to come with her leaves the story/character in a hopeful place. Though there is enough ambiguity in that final line (“‘Sure, Samantha.’ Says the mud. ‘I’d love to.’”) to question if she’s going to continue going down this insular path divorced from reality if she’s anthropomorphizing the mud instead of directly addressing the man beside her. But I’d like to believe the former lol. But yeah, I think this book is a really good one to discuss with others. I wish there were better reviews, positive or negative. Most of them do just mention how confusing the book is, which is neither insightful nor helpful. I’d suggest reading some interviews with Awad (I liked the one from the Paris Review). Agree x1000 that this could make a really great film! I read it was optioned but haven’t heard anything in a while.
Yippieee found a comrade, and remember, don't be ashamed of your beliefs

Communist with iphone
you can be a communist and own an iphone, after all it was the workers who made the iphone
Communism is when no iPhone.
that's no ordinary rabbit...
Also: have you tried some of the more recent releases in the Goosebumps series? I know that R. L. Stine isn't exactly "hip with the kids" but he has continued releasing content that might be more modern (admittedly I haven't tried it either). I know some of his older books were very quietly edited to remove a few iffy and dated descriptions, particularly of Black characters, that did not age well. K.R. Alexander might be worth your attention depending on the age of your child. Daka Hermon I would only recommend to older elementary/middle school aged, there were some things in Hide and Seeker that gave ME chills!
@@RoselinBooksOfficial thank you so much for this you have no idea how long we spent trying to look for horror books for kids. Honestly any age range is good imo.

Great book!
I’m in the middle of the book like on chapter 20 I saw the video before I read that chapter and I was like welp i know which one im skipping 😭😭😭
I've read it before, very 11/10.
Communist wannabe participating in a capitalist system?
I wonder what system I live under hmmm
@@LiteraryLiberation all sustainable systems or systems intended to be sustainable are capitalist
Please explain to me how a socioeconomic model developed in the mid 19th Century is gonna solve anything in the early 21st Century? Honest question.
have you considered reading about it? that's like the whole point of communist texts.
@@LiteraryLiberation have you considered that I have and was looking for a discussion?
@@GuestDude_HandlesAreDumbthey won’t lol just like they won’t say anything about how communist has never worked yet will somehow work this time
So your solution for government being awful, is to make it bigger stronger and more invasive? Legit question, are communists masochists? Cuz I wouldn’t join a group of people who have murdered 100 million but that’s just me personally
100 bazillion* actually
@@LiteraryLiberation and as someone with no military authority or billion dollars worth of buying power to facilitate businesses, do you think you’ll be anything other than another death figure? You won’t be in the government you’re fighting for, you’ll be their slave
You mean when we found out we were communists? Seems to be someone who doesn’t know what communism is lol tf.
Communism? Even the Russians don't believe in that crap anymore XDDDDD
is the person who doesn't know what communism is in the room with us?
@@LiteraryLiberation I think so, cuz Karl Marx was a satanist, and I doubt most people are just cool and down with that. Since you know their whole goal is to lie, manipulate, and seize power. Fun fact, most people who identify as communist have no idea Karl Marx preferred his close friends and family to call him the devil! But I’m sure you’ll tell me to go read instead of vice versa 😂
@@LiteraryLiberationjust move to a communist country if you really want your life/rights taken away that bad
Communist bastards
Lol he killed so many trees and wasted so many resources
Love it!
It's easy to be a communist when you're part of the middle class or higher and take all the things that capitalism has given you for granted. Welcome to clown world and you are one of its disciples
exactly how I felt! Ioved the first half and hated the rest 😭😭
It’s unfortunate that this is the case. And it will happen again after capitalism too. Capitalism demands growth and customers. What happens when every nation is a producer? Sure you could convert to a communist country keep everyone’s needs met. But what if you run out of oil? Or the need for wood out paces it’s growth rate? Eventually the people at the top will consolidate wealth to protect themselves and their circle and give as little as they can to everyone else And this will keep happening even if we go to another planet and then another and another we will always move the goal post there can never be peace and stagnation in an economy and because of that classes will emerge
Tarded
Holy cringe
At least with capitalism, everyone has a shot
If the Government allows that sort of thing lol Russians, Arabians, almost all Africans, central Asians, are all capitalists but good luck with upward mobility there (without military force)
Everyone has the same shot of being exploited.
@@LiteraryLiberation still better than communism and socialism. Sure sime social policies are great when a nation can afford it such as healthcare and education but, you cant acheive communism in any large nation without any authoritarianism because people lie and cheat. Just cause people say they'll follow the rules doesn't mean they will. Communism only works when everybody pinky promises ti do theur job right and fast. Comoletely unviable in any large nation like America
Yes, they did celebrate the right to own property and travel freely. Because that is way better than being murdered because you didn't want to continue living in the same village working the same land that your great grand parents did.
*meanwhile communism being responsible for the deaths of hundreds of millions of people around the world
Another excellent title I'd recommend is 'The Devil and Karl Marx,' though I'd warn you that the first few chapters are utterly heart wrenching, since they go in detail about Marx' home life and then later portray the horrors of the system he created. Edit: it is solely from a christian perspective, mind. If you're not a christian (and we know you're not because you're a communist), you'll find some of the rhetoric there peculiar.
considering the think tank that the author works at aligns itself with the Ludwig Von Mises institute, I think I will pass.
@@LiteraryLiberation It doesn't pretend not to be partisan, it's a very partisan, anti-communist book; and one that skirts the edges very deliberately to avoid saying 'I think Marx was possessed by a demon.' But I would recommend picking it up to everyone with an interest in political ideology. It's very well-researched and dense, with page-long quotes from CPUSA and other sources to back up the points the author is trying to prove. I know you'll probably never read it, but I wish you would - it's an excellent, if somewhat dry read.
And how exactly does Christianity and Communism exclude each other?
@@ajoshdoingthings541 There are three ways that immediately come to mind, all outlined in significantly greater detail in the book I've recommended above. One: philosophically. Being a consequentialist ideology, it's wholly incompatible with Christianity - who's rules are deontoligically based; having come from God Himself rather than being philosophized from an atheistic standpoint. Two: historically. Not only was Marx himself an atheist, he was outspoken in his utter hatred for religion in its entirety. As well, in Russia back when it called itself communist, they took special pleasure in destroying Christianity whenever they could. The accounts are truly heartbreaking. Three; though this is more an extension of the second one (it's distinct enough to be it's own point however). Though CPUSA has outwardly claimed that they don't have anything against religion; they've done so in a way that is consistent with their consequentialist ideology. In particular, their statement is literally 'we tolerate it as long as it furthers our goals.' I don't need to tell you that the goals of Communism - which are focused entirely on results in this world - is opposed to the goals of Christianity - which is focused entirely on results in the next. In short, there's a reason that the popes of old (though I'm no catholic), and the communists of old, had the official position that, quote, 'you cannot be a christian and a communist.'
@@obviouslykaleb7998 all your points only really apply to the interpretations of these terms in the sense of an US American extremist context - and as history displayed so many times no extreme did ever do too well and extreme opinions tend to be the cause of most societal conflicts. But nice that you try to prop up your claims with Marx' personal disliking of religion while at the same time calling things Marxism and pulling him as a guideline while he himself always had a word of disgust for any form of dogmatism not just religion and repeatedly pressed to not turn his theories into a dogma either. And as an empirically motivated and polytheistically-inclined communist I also gotta note how he also was at first of the opinion that the revolution must not be an armed one while later revising that opinion to a more realistic "It depends", so even his words written and spoken are really two things: - his reasoning behind rejecting dogmas - a reflection of why dogmas especially around people and their ideas are generally just plain dumb Also interesting how you on the one hand mention that soviet Russia "called themselves communist" while entirely disregarding the same logic to a century-old party that had it's influential peak about 90-ish years ago and has only ever been a politically and ideologically insignificant side-phenomenon in the US since the 40s, while most non-americans have never even heard about them. Weird logic and even weirder scale to take as standard for something that is inherently global and features discussing diverse opinions on how to achieve the common greater good as one of its main institutions for decision-making called "plenum" or "plenary meeting". Your entire reply is blatantly US-colored in its way of taking fetishized people and ideas as normal and as global measure. Concurrent quite well-known examples of that tendency to turn everything into some sort of cult or -ism are the "Swifties", "Trumpists", "Scientology" et cetera. Besides that the US exhibits an unique density of cults and sects unlike practically any other place on earth. Therefore it's highly inappropriate to use the US and its citizens as a measure for basically anything outside the US - too many "unique markers" to be a general example. Another one of these markers is how in practice there's effectively just two parties and political stagnation for decades and almost centuries at this point without it being an obviously authoritarian form of government. There's a reason for empirical communism to exist and although I know that anecdotal evidence is almost as bad as no evidence, I am yet to meet an empirical communist that denies the potential existence of some form of higher entity. Due to a lack of evidence we can't fully disprove such a thing but at the same time probability suggests that there's no "one and only, omniscient and omnipotent" being but at the very least more than one which is further reinforced by the logical reason of "it itself has to come from or exist somewhere" which in return implies the existence of more than one. The consequentialism you labeled communist ideas with doesn't necessitate keeping you from living with whatever belief system you feel comfortable with UNLESS practicing it is factually harmful for the majority of the people and the society as a whole. In summary: You try so hard to paint a black-and-white picture while the scene you try to depict got all sorts of shades and colors and the composition only really works with the interplay of each being present. Or in the (freely translates) words of a man way smarter than I am but whose name I forgot "If someone presents a simple answer to a complex question they are trying to something they don't want you to know too much about" and that sentence at least partially applies to your entire reply. Appendix: Thanks for taking the time to read all that, if some passages sound snarky, pompous or condescending, please note that such an undertone is not my intention but merely a product of my lingual ineptitude to phrase it differently due to English not being my first language, with that background information please imagine a nicer-sounding phrasing in the respective spots

So true!
I can’t believe my favorite author was mentioned! I love Margaret Peterson Haddix, and I’ll definitely read Uprising soon!
I would recommend 1984 and Animal Farm
I’ve read Animal Farm, it’s certainly a book.
I was bout to say that lol
Animal farm is from a person who has never visited the Soviet Union and only knew about the country from reading british newspapers which only criticized the Soviet Union. It is a bogus story based on so called "totalitarianism" in the Soviet Union which contains a lot of misinformation.
… why do y’all want positive representation of communism? Anyone who has ever lived through it can tell you it can’t be positive in the real world.
Always been interested in this book thanks you
It is so good I promise it is not another overhyped book😭😭
