Dogfighting is like pulling a knife in a gunfight kind of situation with tech as it currently stands. The F-35 can put down aircraft over the horizon and with its stealth, won't be viable to be countered.

Everyone's saying we need to get rid of the F-35 because it isn't good at dogfighting. The thing is, if you're getting into a furball where you're close enough for guns to begin with you already have serious problems. The F-35 is not meant to engage at close distances. It fits the same doctrine that the F-14 did when it was in use--as an aerial assassin.
