I enjoyed hearing about the start of your stitching until the present. Your pieces from back in the day are gorgeous. I learned to stitch in the early 80s. My kids were really little and we went up to the Bay Area in Northern CA to visit one of my besties. She had just been to a cross stitch party and so we learned to cross stitch together. I had done embroidery as a kid and stamped cross stitch as well as embroidery. learned how to needlepoint in my early 20s and took classes in it. I quit doing any needlework in the 90s because I got divorced and had to go back to school to get my teaching credential. I finally started stitching again in 2014 not long before I retired. I had given everything away and so started from scratch. Stitching had really changed and for the better. Beautiful fabrics and fibers and very little backstitching, if any. I stitched some and then covid hit and then I stitched a lot. I realized how much I had enjoyed stitching and so went down the rabbit hole a second time. So now I want all the things. Oh my gosh! You are my main enabler. I love so much of what is in your WIP parade. I’m not a Halloween stitcher so for “something boo” I’m substituting “something just for YOU”. I’m going to choose something I’m itching to get back to or to start. So basically a combination of week 1 and week 2. I wish you and your family the very best in 2025. I enjoyed your video! I am assuming you asked the people who are getting married what they would like in a quilt? I received 2 quilts for my wedding and I truly hated both of them even though I dearly loved the people who made them for me. As a quilter myself, I knew how much time and work went into them. One was pastel floral patterns, the other was black and neon hawaiian floral. Neither are my taste or style. The guilt of not wanting to use them is awful. Number one rule for crafty people is ASK!

I can tell you from experience that having all the cross stitch items together in one room saves hours of searching later. I sorted while I was organizing eliminating things I didn't want anymore. It was so freeing!

I admire your perseverance! I cleaned out my craft room, painted the walls, cleaned the carpeting etc. The hard work started after that. I worked on the quilting first and that was at least 2 weeks of sorting but projects are together and I made a huge donation to the quilt guild. I did the same with my cross stitch and needlepoint donating boxes to the local guilds and friends. My creative memories was last. OMG! I have a large tub of pictures to get into albums! I'm cheering you on! The end result will make you more productive!!!!

Things are looking good in your cute room. Just think how productive you’ll be once you get everything organized. You’ve inspired me to get a handle on my own cross stitch supplies also. I actually organized all my Aida cloth by count and entered all the pieces in a notebook. I’ll be able to check the list before I try to purchase another piece. Counts 10, 12 and 14 are in one bin. Counts 16, 18 and 20 are in a second bin. I have finished organizing my floss as well. I will be able to check my “floss tower” before I hit Hobby Lobby for more floss. Next up is patterns. I’m about half done with those. Feeling good! I’ve created a double file card system. On white 3x5 cards I’ve alphabetized the pattern by name. On brightly colored 3x5 cards each pattern is alphabetized on the “designer card”. Surely between both options I’ll be able to locate the pattern I’m looking for. LOL. WIPs are in project bags stored in large tubs. Only the 4-5 I’m currently working on are in the stitch basket in my stitchy spot. WHEW! I’m worn out just thinking about it. ❤❤

I now completely understand this weird connection to you I have felt from the beginning…we adopted our daughter when she was 7 weeks old. She turns 43 next month.
