I thought there was an article somewhere on the Taiko Time blog that explained the orbs, but I’d have to go back and look for it. Even so, I explained each orb in another comment, and I’ll repeat it here: *Fire:* Immediate, direct fire damage *Leaf:* Cancels note chart modifiers *Water:* Immediate, direct ice damage *Rock:* Makes large notes more powerful *Lightning:* Immediate, direct electric damage *Wind:* Makes all notes more powerful, increases scroll speed *Dark:* Temporarily sends Bombs to your enemy

Good to know. I couldn't find anything myself, but now people can find the effects easier.

It was April 9 for me when I made this. And yep, that's why people celebrate Sig on 4/9.

Good idea, but I didn't have it at the time, and I didn't want to go all the way through the graveyard yet. I beat the boss in Part 16, though.

@@RainShinotsu oh right i didnt notice xD a way for me to know the notes in these situations is to memorize the beat - it helps when you fail and reset.

That's what I do too. It just takes a few tries to get it down. (Funny that a percussionist has trouble memorizing the beat...) If I were playing through this back in 2016 when I recorded Parts 1-13, I'd probably be doing better than I am now. Not playing much for almost five years does quite a bit to one's skill level.

Don't do what? Fight Katsu? If so, unfortunately, it's required in order to get through the story.

I can understand being afraid of Maou’s second phase; it is pretty scary. It’s unfortunate that your 3DS broke; I suppose getting through it now would be easier.

I think the Switch game will only feature the second and third 3DS games, and the first one will be left out. It is pretty unfortunate, as I'd like to see this game localized. However, even if it did feature the first game, I'd definitely see about fixing the 3DS anyway in case you want to play other games. And I didn't mean to discontinue my playthrough. After recording 13 episodes' worth of content, I had a sizeable backlog to upload, which would take a while, so I waited until it was through to continue playing/recording. Instead, I just didn't really get around to it. However, for quite a while, I have been thinking of picking it back up and finishing what I started, but first, I'd like to figure out an improved setup and de-rust at the game a bit.

I can see the similarity too.

The plot behind it is that when she gained possession of the Earth Orb, she became very lazy, even neglecting her child's needs. She was also partly turned to stone. You can see that throughout the chapter, she is mostly asleep. (Don't worry, though; after this battle, she wakes up, realizes what happened, and immediately tries to make up for letting that happen.)

Oh, you're welcome. I’m glad that you found it useful. I wish it were in English too, but it seems that after six years of its existing, Bandai Namco is unlikely to turn around and announce an English release.

I'll probably make a video of this sometime, but for now, I hope a written explanation will do: The Fire Orb unleashes a fiery attack on your foe at some point in the fight. This is especially helpful against plant-based enemies. The Leaf Orb cancels any note chart modifiers, such as increased note speed or random note patterns, that your foe gives you. The Water Orb unleashes an icy attack on your foe at some point in the fight. This is especially helpful against fire-based enemies. The Rock Orb turns large notes into boulders which, when hit correctly, deal more damage than a typical large note would. The Lightning Orb unleashes an electrical attack on your foe at some point in the fight. This is especially helpful against water-based enemies. The Wind Orb increases note speed but makes all notes slightly more powerful. It's a decent trade-off for people who can read notes quickly. The Dark Orb, my favorite, sends bombs to your enemy instead of you for a short while starting at some point in the fight.

the orbs helps you in game and raiko breaths fire yes its true XD

once you have beast orb there's no reason to use the others

I did some looking into it, and unfortunately, the VA for Ataru is not the same as the singer of Ashumo's song. I haven't seen Urusei Yatsura, so I can't compare voices between the two. Sorry.

This game is available for Nintendo 3DS consoles in Japan, so if you live in Japan, go to your local retailer and get a 3DS and this game (or an eShop card with enough funds for it). If not, get the game online and either import a 3DS to go with it or modify one from your region to remove the region lock. I chose to import this game and a 3DS because I live in the US, and I didn’t want to take a risk with the 3DS I already had.

Raruko is the romaji, and Ralco is a bit more Anglicized. I tend to use Raruko in favor of Ralco. (Update 03/04/18: I’ve been using Ralco a bit more frequently recently.)
