It’s actually spelled ‘vracq’
That was better than you thought it was
Your so cute babe
1:38 did she said mickey/pinky mice ???
I said "kinna like a Mickey Mouse ear" hahaha.
@@ToUnpathedWaters ufff... sorry...
It’s so sad that they are now endangered 😞
Yep. And the Vaquita Porpoise is more endangered.
I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU.... CAN I HAVE YOUR PHONE NUMBER ? INTELLIGENT AND BEAUTIFUL, WOW
I am really glad for this video as it helps with my college project on the little guys.
Awesome! I'm so glad this video is still helping people learn more about this adorable little cetaceans.
Are you still in the USA?
Jaryd Schneider I am, but I've been finding it very difficult to get the time to make and edit videos. I am working on one right now actually.
thid helped me so much on my school progect
Oh excellent! I'm glad I have been of some use. :)
Well...I have a dolphin I see
She's hot ...
your cute :D
Transient & Open Water Orca's mostly are the mammal munching kind. My question is: When is the NZ Government going to pass the laws about no net fishing? After the Hector's / Maui's are extinct? It's so frustrating.
Thanks for the question! I wouldn't define orcas as cannibals, because although they are related, orcas are a different species to Hector's dolphins.
Yay for vocabulary! Then at 1:58 does that mean orcas are cannibals? XD
Sorry, no star stuff from me, but I highly recommend SciShow by Hank Green if you're looking to the night skies. There are actually several apps in existence where you can record cetacean sightings, the problem for the scientific community using these is that there is no way of them verifying the sightings. So they're not really suitable for research, it's a step in the right direction though! :)
Banks Peninsula, New Zealand. It's beautiful. :)
where is that at? it looks verry nice
Interesting. I know this is not your area, buuuutttt anything on space / star observation citizen science? :) Also there really should be an APP by now for your iphone to log things like Dolphins etc. You should make that your project for next year and seek government funding.
Go ahead. :)
Mind if I link to reddit? :)
you should pack your stuff for the mexican Caribbean! there is lots of marine life you could study on!
That's a very complicated question, and one which swings on the notion that animals experience emotions in the same way as humans. Certainly, dolphins do have sex at times when it would not be possible for the female to get pregnant. However, this could be a form of social dominance, or something else entirely. Animal behaviour is far too complex to sum up in a sweeping statement like "dolphins have sex for pleasure" and the fact is we may never really understand why they do certain things. :)
lol... thank you for clearing my doubts! hey is it trueeee that dolphins apart from humans are the only animals in the animal kingdom that have sexual relations for pleasure and not just acting on instinct?
Northern Irish. :)
irish?
HAVE YOU TRIED TURNING IT OFF AND ON AGAIN?!
Oh I would mean you bring a video camera, so the camera would be set to record before inserting it into the sealed jar.
this may be a daft question... but how do you press the button to take the picture...
I know this is like.... eh 6 months too late. But if you want to take a camera underwater with you those sealed glass cookie jars work really well for keeping a camera in and waterproof.
Yeah but you can't shell the real life bad drivers still :(
It's like real life Mario Kart!
I can completely understand where you are coming from with Egyptian driving! I worked in Cairo for a bit and the morning commute to work usually involved pushing some cars out of the way so I could get into my own and get onto the main road :) Then it was a fancy state of bumper cars.
Tiffin barking... fail... Focus... fail... Video... WIN
I'm gonna say do more like this. It was very interesting, but just because I like prying into people's lives really.
@happytheorca Hey. Thanks very much for your comment. I assume that you are referring to the age that orcas can survive to in captivity. While 20s-30s is a much more common age for captive orcas to die at, the eldest in captivity was actually captured from the wild 42 years ago. Lolita, as she is now known, was estimated to be between 4-6 when she was captured, which would put her between 46-48 years old. Hope this clears up any issue you had. :)
@Mwaark Hahaha. Thank you very much. :)
@themaddestcat Me too! Hahaha, thanks very much. I'm hoping that the science only videos that I make will be enjoyed my scientists and non-scientists alike. :)
Found you via Your Pants - I'm not a science-y person but I really liked this! Glad they found the important instrument thingy.
Your sister has not only posted this on her facebook wall (which I watched) she also personally messaged me on facebook to highlight your embarrassing story. You can thank her for this. In the words of Nelson.... HA HA.
This sounds like a Waldo story... remember that one time when we sent a 0.5 million pound weather balloon into space to take pictures and forgot to put the film in the camera? *tumbleweed* #awkwardturtle
