    Hi. If you use them for tennis with satisfaction, I imagine I could use them for pickleball? Maybe I could consider buying photochromics lenses and using them both indoors and outdoors. That way I will have great glasses for general use? What do you think? Thanks.

      @AceTennisReviews Год назад

      Hi! Thank you for liking the channel! These lenses are NOt photochromic and so I’ve only reviewed these lenses which are designed specifically for help with Tennis and Cycling. Photochromic lenses have a totally different characteristic and I would not use them for tennis at a competitive level.

    • @c.dufresne3468
      @c.dufresne3468 Год назад

      @@AceTennisReviews for your response. I understand your point of view. I see that you use Road Jade lenses and I found them to be in the middle of that category as they block less light than Road Black and more than Road Original. I could therefore choose the Road Jade for the exterior when playing pickleball and go with my choice of photochromic for the interior because they will be transparent and use them as day to day eyewear. Good idea?

    • @AceTennisReviews
      @AceTennisReviews Год назад

      No problem. Yes these are Road Jade and in the middle of the spectrum of how much light they let through. What you’re proposing could work, but do you have very sensitive eyes or is the lighting indoors in such a way that you need glasses to play indoors? I’m assuming the answer is Yes cause otherwise the lighting at indoor facilities usually aren’t severe enough to need glasses. If you do have very sensitive eyes, and your level of play, it might be more optimal to have a few sets of LENSES and swap them out depending on Indoors (clearer lens), Outdoors some sun (Road Jade), Outdoors direct sun (Jade Black). This is of course the most expensive option so something to consider. I personally don’t like photochromic lenses for competitive play because the technology is very good these days in lens specific lenses, and no so great for multiple scenario lenses. But this is my own personal opinion and it could different for you. For indoors, the lenses needs to be able to pass a lot more light through otherwise your sight can get too dark. Might feel comfortable but as your level of play increases, if it’s too dark, you don’t see the angles of the ball and it’s spin/movement as well as you need to.

    • @c.dufresne3468
      @c.dufresne3468 Год назад

      @@AceTennisReviews in fact, I don't have any specific issue with my eyes indoor. I simply want to get a higher quality glasses with clear lenses. Because I'm playing pickleball, I'm mainly looking for protective (safety) glasses. I already have shatterproof polycarbonate glasses but they offer poor optical quality. You have to keep in mind that glasses for pickleball offer by well known company cost between 50 and 60$. So, if I'm paying 300$, I should have something completely different in term of frame and lenses quality. Am I wrong? Thanks again from Québec!

    • @AceTennisReviews
      @AceTennisReviews Год назад

      Ahh ok that makes sense. Yes the high price for lenses like the Road Jade is because it makes the tennis ball easier to see in medium, to medium high brightness. We are paying for the technology and light frame. It’s not meant for safety, so you are not wrong! Also look at Bolle’. They make great glasses too and some come with a replaceable clear lenses that you can use for your indoor pickle ball matches. Or if you like the Oakley, see if they have a replacement clear lenses that they sell. As long as you have the Radar frame, you can easily replace their compatible lenses within less than 1 minute. Please let me know what you end up choosing and how it goes.

    the beam is 21.5mm...relatively speaking thats a thin beam compared most racquets.....

    • @AceTennisReviews
      @AceTennisReviews Год назад

      Yes I think thicker beams are becoming more common now. I play with the Yonex Ezone 98 which is the opposite frame structure as the Wilson Pro Staff: it has a thinner throat and wider frame around the head of the racquet. You make a good point, and I should emphasize, that the thicker beam nowadays is becoming more common in “players racquets” which traditionally have had thin beams. What racquet do you hit with?

      Hey, apparently it depends what type of feet you have.. I always played with the solution speeds which are amazing to me.. Very fitting, light and flexible.. I just ordered the ff3's online and they feel amazingly big.. Like the space in the shoe is like 50% more or so.. I think to try half size smaller but I might still swim in those.. Also the nose feels sturdy.. I have avg width feet but quite flat. As I am Asian I have seen most Asians playing with the speeds and most westerners with the ff's.. I guess they have heavier feet.. Also for my running shoes I need half size smaller. I have heard that Novak himself has a tighter model in the ff3! I dont know why they didn't keep that for retail..

    Pro-tip: the Tourna grip you've shown actually has different levels of dryness vs tackiness on either side. So you can actually choose one or the other feel depending on your preference.

    • @AceTennisReviews
      @AceTennisReviews Год назад

      Thanks for that tip! So the tackiness is on the backside?

    • @AMurderOfLobs
      @AMurderOfLobs Год назад

      @@AceTennisReviews Actually I chose the wrong word in "tackiness" because dry/tacky is the commonly used dichotomy for overgrips. The opposite side of the tourna grip isn't tacky, but it is noticeably softer and more pleasing to the touch. Although it doesn't provide as much slip protection for all those sweaty handed freaks out there.

    • @AceTennisReviews
      @AceTennisReviews Год назад

      @@AMurderOfLobs Ahh yes... I understand. From my experience, both sides provide a dry feel although one side (back side) not as good as the main (front side). I have also seen some people use one side and then regroup using the other side! I tend to peel through the grip after a few uses so I just throw it out and then put a new one on.

    • @AMurderOfLobs
      @AMurderOfLobs Год назад

      @@AceTennisReviews Yeah I've gotten as many as 4 uses out of the same Tourna grip. After the first side, you can do the unexposed area of that same side (where it was overlapping and somewhat protecting itself) by wrapping it in reverse. The third time use is flipping it over to the backside, and the fourth use is the unexposed area of the backside. I don't like my grips to get grungy, so I don't use any given side for very like (~ 1 week) otherwise Tourna can break down as you noted.

      Sorry just seeing this. If you live in TX (or any warm area) and you have sweaty hands, yes I would avoid tacky grips. Tourna is the blue print for dry grips. Interesting, I have quite different experience. I have current ezone 98 strong with Hyper G soft 1.20 at 48. It’s way too soft. Like really soft, no feedback, ball tends to fly on me. Not much spin either. It’s been only a day of playing, but I doubt this strings a lot.

    • @AceTennisReviews
      @AceTennisReviews 2 года назад

      Hi! I play with the Ezone 98 as well! 48 lbs tension is too low in my opinion with this string. Depending on your level, and hitting style, I would suggest you increase the tension to 53 lbs. If you are a flat hitter, this string will not pocket the ball as well as you'd like. Let me know!

      @@kevinle5460 I haven’t hit with the regular 18g in some time so can’t give you an accurate feedback. What I can say is that this is a Soft 17g and would be a better compared to the regular 17g, not 18. In my experience almost strings that start getting that thin, lose their characteristics within hours after being strung so in order to compare them, they really need to be strung and hit at the same time. What I can say is that I prob would go up to the 18g in the soft, simply because of rapid tension loss because I’d have to restring a lot more often if I were to hit with an 18g.

    • @AceTennisReviews

      Gel Res 8 are very stable and I think provide the best cushioning in the ASICS line. Just make sure to get the correct size and width for your foot. The drawback of them is that they’re a tad heavier and also don’t have the front toe box roll feature that the Solution Speed line provides.
