I am happy driving Bohol and Leyte. Roads are good , traffic is light. NO WAY will I get behind the wheel in Manila! Or--Cebu. There are NO rules, no courtesy, and no good drivers, most Manila scooter riders( sorry they aint motorbikes) do NOT have any license or registration, no skills and never wear a helmet but if you, the foreigner collides with one of them or they collide with you, YOU are guilty, every time so it just aint worth it.

the bad thing is thats the way world is going.. I had a moment of clarity few years ago.. Thats when I started wearing Jeans and boots again in the Philippines... no matter how hot.. I wear my american hand made jeans and boots that are also american hand made. Something about knowing human hands fed the fabric or cut the leather rather than pushed the button for the machines to do it.
