Bergen Winter Wonderland | 4k Walking Tour | Binaural Snow, Water, City Sounds for Relaxation
When snow falls on the cobblestone alleys of the Nordnes neighbourhood of Bergen, it is transformed into a magical winter wonderland. In my third walking tour from this year´s heavy snowfall, we explore this historic part of the city (link to more winter videos below).
I was born and raised in Bergen, and Nordnes is one of my favourite areas, so come along for a peaceful walk in the serene ambience of the quiet backstreets, where a light drizzle of snow heightens the beauty of the colourful wooden houses decorated with christmas lights. On a beautiful afternoon, the soft light of the low nordic sun makes the colours come alive. We hear the sounds of snow cracking under my feet, low voices...

Nocturnal Snowfall in Bergen: Secret Streets | 4k Walking Tour | Binaural City Sounds
Просмотров 6 тыс.День назад
Recently the magic of winter came to Bergen, Norway. I filmed some videos on this rare occasion and this is the second part, where we explore the cozy wooden houses- and university campus area of Nygårdshøyden and Sydnes in central Bergen. The muted soundscape and magical atmosphere that arises in a rare snowfall like this inspires me to dream about fairytales and mystical places, and I find it...
Rare Snowfall in Bergen | Atmospheric 4k Walking Tour | Binaural City Sounds for Relaxation

This week something magical happened in Bergen, Norway. Our beautiful city, usually known for rain, was covered in a thick blanket of snow, something that does not happen often, so I decided to document the event with this video. It brought back memories from when I was a child, and snowfalls like this would bring opportunities for skiing, sleighing and building snowmen. As an adult I also appr...
Gorgeous Mount Fløyen - Bergen | 4k Walking Tour | Binaural Audio for Relaxation

Fløyen is a mountain right in the centre of Bergen. This is the classic walk from the mountaintop down into the city, and it is easily accessible via the quirky Fløybanen funicular, featured in this video. On this lovely autumn day in September we start with a spectacular view of the city and the North Sea. Then we embark on a relaxing walk along the quaint paths down from the mountain, through...

Immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of the Norwegian mountains, and come along with me on a journey I made this autumn, through rugged mountain terrain, massive boulders, serene alpine lakes, and crystal-clear mountain rivers and streams in the area around Finse, Norway. A relaxing walking tour in the serene forest surrounding Fantoft Stave Church in Bergen, Norway. Enjoy the beautiful autumn colours, and the peaceful audio ambience of wind and birds as we explore the paths around this wooden church that dates back to the viking age. Fantoft Stave Church was built in Sogn in 1170 and moved to this forest outside Bergen in 1883. It is a stave church, meaning tha...
Dear Erik,😎 I love this video. Wow oh Wow oh Wow-wee.! I love all the beautiful colored houses/homes and buildings you captured, the squealing sweetie-pie kids on their sleds playing & going down the hill, (brought out that inner child in me and I thank you). The walks between the houses, all the beautiful people walking/voices, shoveling snow, that beautiful park with the Norwegian Sea views. The storm coming in, the trees and your walk and a shot of the ivy going up the stairs, the crows making their sounds. The snow, I mean just everything you captured was just stellar. Blows my mind how all the paths are shoveled and how you ever get back to your original destination is mind blowing to me. Most grateful from your number #1 hippie 70ish age Groupie! ha ha Take care and thank you for being a beacon of light..🌻🌠10:50 a.m. E.T. Thurs. 1/30/25 Florida, USA🌴
Thanks Donna, great to hear you liked this one. This area is so special, and it really was a wonderful day. I have quite a few happy hippie memories of my own from that park actually 🧔♀Mine are from the 90s though. There is a totem pole in the middle of the park (you can see it for a few seconds in the video) which actually was a gift from the city of Seattle for Bergen´s 900 year anniversary. We used to gather around it and hang out.Take care and great to hear from you, all the best 😊
@@EyesandBoots4kHi Erik, I plan on watching this one again tonight. It's fun because now I can concentrate on something I missed like the totem pole. Thanks for sharing the history of it. I forgot to mention I liked watching that Ship cruising out to Sea. This was a very happy video. Thank you very much. All the best to you too and take care. You write the nicest comments back! 🙂 P.S. Hi Erik, 🌠I'm going to watch this one again from start to finish and watch for anything I missed last time. Hey, someone mentioned below the interruption of ads. I don't mind, It gives me an opportunity to run to the refrigerator for a refreshment. 🥤🙂When I see ad's I can click to skip the ad's. However, kudo's to the person below that want's to sleep to this. For me, it makes me want to hop on a sled. 🛷Love your video's . Thank you Video Master Earth Angel. 3:15 a.m. E.T. 1/29/25 Wed. Florida, USA
Thanks for being such a loyal viewer Donna, really appreciate it and your encouragement :) Yes I guess ads can be both a nuisance and a blessing, but I think on this type of videos its better they appear at the beginning and the end. New video from Bergen coming today or tomorrow, so stay tuned ☺
@@EyesandBoots4k Hi Erik, You're video's seem to capture my Soul for some reason; so life like, it makes me feel I'm right there. Yes, those ad's don't interrupt during the video. Thank you for making me escape. Looking forward to the new video. Keep wonderful Erik and thank you again Master Video Man. Your responses are priceless.‼📽
Hi Erik, I came back to watch this video again from start to finish and this really is a very cool video. The guys on their sleds, all the white lights everywhere, that big white bear, some of the stores you got a shot of. . Also you going down some streets I'd be scared someone would jump out at me 🙂. The 7-eleven store - made me smile. I've got one down the street from me. You have to bless those bus drivers out in the snow along with you. All the people walking and no traffic, some taxi drivers?. Seem like a lot of wide space everywhere even though there were buildings. This really is a neat film. Boy, my life seems so dull when I watch your video's. Thank you again. It's 2:45 a.m. and I'm up like a hoot owl. Take care. 1/29/25 Wed. Florida, USA
Great to hear, yes even though we are used to snow here in Norway, and cars have winter tires, when it gets this heavy most people avoid driving. Good for me since it adds to the atmosphere :) Even though Bergen is Norway´s second largest city with its own share of social issues, we are lucky that the most dangerous people at night are the pub crowd...
@@EyesandBoots4k What is also neat is you are located on the Norwegian Sea. I know it is Heaven on Earth there. Thank you Erik. 🎀🎁
Beautiful, you wouldn't walk around any big city here in the US at night ....
Thanks, yes we are lucky in that way. Even though Bergen is the second largest city in Norway, with its own share of social issues, the most dangerous people here at night are the pub crowd... What city are you in if I may ask?
This is not a knock on your video.. I think its amazing however you have many ad interruptions and I don't know about other viewers but I listen and watch this to relax and sometimes fall asleep to but the ad interruptions break the relaxation. Other channels like yours put ads in the very beginning or end.. If you do that I'd love to subscribe.
Hi, and thanks for the feedback, really happy to hear that you enjoy my videos :) Unfortunately, my channel is not yet monetized (meaning I don´t get any ad revenue from RUclips), which requires a minimum 1000 subscribers. Until then, I am not able to control at what points RUclips places ads on my videos. The good news is that my subscriber count is increasing fast, so it probably won´t be long until I can determine the ad placement myself, restricting them to the beginning/end of videos, or turning them off completely for some content. So by subscribing you actually help me toward removing the ads from mid-video, which I agree is crucial for this type of content that is focused toward relaxation. All the best to you :)
@@EyesandBoots4k Oh I didn't know that. Then I will subscribe which will make you 1 person closer to 1000 😃
Much appreciated, welcome onboard 😊
Great Video. Cold weather but is nice to hear the snow falling. BTW for this videos, what camera and gimbal you use? thanks and keep it up!
Hi Adrian, thanks for watching. For this video I used a dji Pocket 2 with a separate zoom recorder for audio
I love it! I live in Bergen and this is a wonderful video of this magical city. Thank you for making it❤️🇳🇴
Tusen takk 😊 happy to hear you enjoyed it!
Why there are no lights in the windows?
It is probably because it is filmed in the evening when offices and shops are closed.
Merveilleux !!
I dont know if I would call it rare. It happens every winter, but I suppose heavy snowfall, that stays for weeks or even month(s), seem to come in cycles og 10 years.

Dear Erik, Hvordan gar det? 🌲It's me the gal from Florida that finally is seeing your last wonderful video. I'm sorry I don't speak Norwegian and you speak wonderful English. I thought the most polite gesture was to say "How are you" in your language at the introduction. My heart sank as this video ended. I loved the moss on the trees, the views, the tour bus down the mountain, the beautiful people passing by, the statues, the forest trees, railings/fences, stone walls, buildings/houses, background noise. For some reason all of this made me cry. It must be wonderful to live in Norway. Thank you for all your 5 video's. I get to go back to these video's whenever I want to so I can sooth my Soul. Takk & Hadet, - hope I got that right! 🙂 Many Blessings. 9:30 p.m. E.T Wed 1/22/25 Florida, USA P.S. Sorry my comment was so long - hope you didn't go cross-eyed.❤
Hi Donna, not bad norwegian for a non norwegian speaker :) We are a small language so knowing english is essential for norwegians. So great to hear that you enjoyed the video, its very moving to hear that it touched you so much, this is a very special part of a city which we who live here love very much. Maybe that comes through in the video? You are right, we are truly blessed to live in such a beautiful country, I often think about it when filming :) I hope to visit the US one day, which I think also has some amazing places and landscapes. 🙂Dear Erik, I just left you my first comment below and this video is blowing my mind that I had to add some extra words. You really deserve a medal or an award🛡 for the filming of this one. Such hard work walking on those rocks Then I went into panic mode knowing what a green horn I am, I would get lost. Do you have a map, compass, how do you know where you are going and then you have to hike back. I'm telling you, this one should be a terrain hiking documeniary on TV. 🎬📺📽🎞. I'm still awake 2:00 a.m. E.T. 1/22/25 Florida, USA. I'm going back to finish this one up! Thank you.
@@DonnaSenay-g2c thanks again Donna, its so nice to hear that you find joy in these videos. I do use a map and GPS to navigate, and as you'll see in the video, parts of this walk follows a trail marked by the Norwegian hikers association, indicated by the cairns marked with red T's. I have another mountain video coming soon. All the best to you 😊

Well Erik, I couldn't sleep and I knew I would have to view another one of your wonderful video's. I am so loving this one with all the rocks and those rock formations that someone designed? The boulders and little ponds wondering if there are little fish swimming in there. I would truly go spastic hiking there. I would be looking at every rock wondering if I could find a fossil in one of them. I love rocks. Watching this is pumping me up. rare showfall in norway?
This type of heavy snowfall is actually quite rare in the city of Bergen, which, due to its location on the west coast, has a mild and wet climate with temperatures typically between 3 - 10C in the winter season. Here we mostly get rain...
Bergen gets more rain than snow? I thought Norwegians invented skiing. Or was that water skiing?
Lol, yes skiing is immensely pupular here, but it is a big country with different climates, and in some parts, like here on the coast the winters are pretty mild and wet due to the gulf stream. Some times you could definitely water ski in bergen 😊
10:42 What song is that?
I don´t know, maybe someone watching does?
I didn’t know Bergen didn’t get snow I always imagined it would be very snowy ,it looks wonderful like this
Hi, yes due to the city's location by the coast, the winter climate is usually quite mild, around 3-10°C. It is also considered the rainiest city in Norway, so do look out for rain videos on my channel 😊
@@EyesandBoots4k Exept its not as easy as that. If you go south from here it gets milder on the coast for a while, but in the in the biggest city on the coast in the south Kristiansand it gets colder because of a cold current from Sweden, that only gets very cold when the baltic ocean freezes over. That also passes along Bergen. But it has to battle the gulf current here. And snow is common, it just doesnt stay a long time often because of the rain. If it gets freezing for long enough the rhododendron leaves get really thin and curly. Then they get flat again with mild weather.
@ Yes you are right, I should have said west coast. But getting as much snow as we did this year was quite exceptional, with the Bergen newspapers full of stories about how this was a first for most kids, and all the fun and problems it brought :)
Nice walk, thanks. Like 172 from new sub. Look forward to more 🙏
Thanks and welcome onboard! More videos coming soon (next week) 😊
