Wow! This is an insightful recording. There is so much to learn here - we have to be aware of how we may unintentionally set a direction for the client with our questions. For eg, do you want to lose weight or better health? Then the client may actually start thinking about this either-or during the session. Thanks for sharing!

This is an interesting coaching session, but I would prefer it if the coach actually offered some practical advice. This client isn't going to figure things out on his own, considering how divided he is between his two options.

Suppose there is a client who wants to work on their ability to manage time & prioritise, and I feel there is an underlying belief that "it is not right to say no" which may be coming in the way. Can this be shared as an observation? Or should I allow the client to discover this for themselves through my questions? What sort of questions can be asked to help the client get to this awareness?

Totally agree with you on this framing concept. It's the inner frame that determines the outer frame. How we see ourselves is how we see the world. As a Coach, we create time and space for that person to look deeply on their inner frames, and choose whether these frames are useful for them anymore.

Emotions take place all the time in conversations, just that we are, like our clients, mostly, not conciously aware. I find that they form a part of the non verbal exchange that take place during a conversation. Thank you, Jedi, for the tip. Found it insightful.

The coach gave a lot of space to the coachee. The question "Had there be times you have been successful in articulating your mind" and the pause right afterwards led to coachee's awareness of what is missing in her.
