I was in 2nd grade, living in a small township in Denmark. We were able to use our skates on the ice on the fields from all the water, the autumn had left over. I remember stories from my grandmother come alive inside my head. True and pristine hope and joy over the expectations of the next day. The year after we moved to the suburbs of Copenhagen. I was devastated. I felt I lost my childhood, but today I cherish those moments with love and reminiscence.
