Waaaait registered volunteers still had to buy badges?? So basically you pay the convention to work for them for free? How does that work?? The cons around me have a system where if you already bought a badge, it's reimbursed if you do a certain number of hours of volunteer work during the con.

Hi there - I attended this con, and I registered before all the behind-the-scenes drama came to light - alas, the show had to go on for me, and I went. It was also very bare-bones, but I made the best out of that situation. EDIT: Hey, I'm in this vid! I can be seen @ 1:27 in the Santa hat and yellow sweater.

Communication was SUCH an issue. My friend and I hosted a panel on Friday and when we followed the instructions in the panel confirmation email and went to check in, they had covered up our panel on the schedule and said it wasn’t happening because the people hosting it never showed up. Luckily, we make the best of most situations we’re in and already had decided to “yes and” our way through the weekend 🥲

One of the idol performers here!!! Its so interesting to know how filled all of the rooms were at our events😊 and the fact we had to PAY for our badges and didnt recieve any comp for supplying 3 events + halftime! Isnt that wild! [Im glad the community stuck together for everyone, cosplayers and artists had each others backs during this <3]

Thanks for speaking about this! It popped up on my suggested feed and I had to watch. This con was nothing short of a disaster and I know that the PDX community is going to have a hard time letting this go. Lulu lost everyones trust and the main issue we have that she hasnt apologized for is the LYING. She lied to everyone about everything! I was a cosplay guest and got blindsided a month prior to learn that she had no cosplay contest coordinator and it fell on myaelf and the other judge to make it happen or there would be no event. And I only found out because I kept asking so she really couldn't ignore me anymore 🤷‍♂️ I'm glad to hear that the community is pretty much on the same page with this one, it was truly wild and unacceptable.

Hi youtube randomly suggested this to me! tbh i know at the big con in my city, how it works for volunteers (i know because a friend of mine volunteers there!) you have to buy a weekend pass in advance but they will reimburse you if you do show up, they do this to avoid people ghosting, but to be fair it's explained very clearly in advance !! cons, especially if its a new baby 1st year edition con like kisuucon, should never assume people will know how theyre operating 😭

Correction for you as one of the people who was originally an artist- we weren't told until two weeks before the show that we were being put in a public area. 🫠 The contract and floor maps before that indicated we would be in a closed, lockable rooms. Lulu called us artists bigots and transphobes (not hearsay, I have a screencap of it) for asking about our refund. A big problem with her is she took everything as a personal attack. Anything that wasn't positive feedback got you a ban. She just isn't mature enough to run a show.
