Even as an amateur I got some observations I will look for during the first impression swatching to justify the huge price gab between the two products. This is my in dept way of investigate if ...

They look so good like paint swatches from the paint shop...lol Enjoy!
You're so good using all your paints TFS
Beautiful! Ok, now I am confused as to what to do and want the himi jelly gouaches again! 😂
I was surprised how creamy and fast drying they were. My old sets have been keept wet via spray since I got them 2 yrs back and I think that I might have changed the formular during that so going forward I will add drops of glycerin to my gouache spray. If you want to paint where you need a wash and need to blend then I think that HIMI gouache might make it harder because they are not super pigmented like designers gouache - so when you water them down (as you would need to do a wash) it really make a big difference how saturated the gouache is with pigments. But, when that's said - if you want to use gouache as a markmaking (like the Willowing owl style that I have had fun with) then I really find it a huge benefit that all the cups are open and mixed so you can get inspiration directly from your palette to intuitaitve choose the next colour instead of having to sit and visualize what color would be fun because you need to mix it first and also keep in mind 'how much to mix' and then 'save' the mix on your palette if you want to finish your work off with splatters... so it all comes down to what paintingstyle you are going for. I need both types of palettes. Thanks for watching Devon. On my patreon I got more videos where I actually are painting with both the schmincke designers gouache and the HIMI if you want to see more. Wish you an awsome day.
@@MissLinux2010 Thank you so much for all the helpful information Lina! 👍
Great swatches! Love all the pretty colors especially all the pinks and turquoise and teals very nice and I think the glycerin drops r a good idea too hopefully they help
I hope too Amber that the glycerin will help not disturbing the formular because my old gouache have been added so much spray since it was opened 2 yrs ago - it have practically been keept wet since I opened it. Thanks for watching Amber
Oh man !!! These r so pretty and I like that they r half cups so u have a hope of using all the product lmao I've always wanted to get some of the himi but I'm afraid I will get it and not use it enough I think I will wait until I have a better art space solution, until then I will live thru u lmao
Hi Lina, I like your product reviews very much. The things which are important to you are the same things important to me. It is nice to hear your thoughts and impressions as you paint. TFS. I do not use gouache…it confuses me. LOL. Is it water based or acrylic?!? But I do think I like the Schminceke better if only because it dries more closely to the original application. I am not a good enough painter to have the dried picture look different than it did while painting.
Lina I love ur reviews I learn a lot and a lot of times there r questions I wouldn’t think to have but when u say it it makes sense ❤I have been eyeing the schminke guache so it’s good to see it in action 😊 thank you for sharing your opinions and thoughts with us❤❤
Wow, that was a great experiment especiallty about the drying time. TFS
You could be a professional product reviewer. You did such a great job with your explanations of each brand.
Great comparison Lina. I have been getting tempted by those cute jelly gouache sets lately but this makes me think I should consider a higher quality set instead if I do take the plunge into gouache. I look forward to seeing what you pain with this. I like how you used your coins 🤓
Thanks so much for your comparison of the new gouache. I recently bought a set of Holbein. An art store near by that has wonderful classes had a teacher that did a few classes using the Holbein and I enjoyed working on it. Now I'm curious how the two of them might compare. Again, thanks! I loved hearing how you compared and what you looked for in the comparisons.
I think your going to love the new gouache . The price is worth it when it comes to applying gouache . Thanks for all the great information. Enjoy your gouache journey. ❤
Omgosh that song...lol!
It is to this date the most strange piece of music I have heard myself... lol
Great piece Lina! You are so funny “I own my Flatulence” 😂 Words to live by 😉

Thanks for watching Amber. I wish you an awsome weekend.
She's so pretty. TFS
I really love using the ink from JD for skin tone - it is so easy to work with. Thanks for watching - I wish you a great weekend.
Omg Lina the little witches r so cute! Great postcards! Yes the acrylic stamps seem to stick and do weird things I had a jane Davenport set the one where u make the faces using the stamps and mine totally ripped when I was trying to take it off I was so mad. Yes I totally agree about it taking forever to make a bunch of something I always make a ton of Christmas cards every year I send to a few people and then I make one for each of my coworkers and it takes so long to make like 25 cards. Oh speaking of big gel plates I watch this guy here on utube he has a giant gel plate I think he special ordered it from the company its huge he makes giant prints and sells them very cool
WOW... a 25 card production !! that is huge - so huge that it become a chore that really take dedication!. I too think that there are quality difference between the acrylic stamps when they start to get older. I got a stamp set for planners where the acrylic is getting soft and squishy so eventhough I got weak hands even I can push the stamp block to hard and distort the line work. It is such a bummer with the JD stamp ... 😪 especially because they are difficult to get.
@@MissLinux2010 yes for sure her stamps r so hard to find and I only used it a couple of times I only had it a few years it was so disappointing. Yes the Christmas card definitely become a chore lol by the end I’m so glad I’m done most years unless I have a lot of ideas or something but most times I’m running out by the end lmao
Beautiful piece Lina! Funny song too 😂
ROFL... it was not a bossy but a busy butt!!!

Awww thank you so much for taking the time to leave these kind words Bethann. I wish you a fantastic day too.
Lina, I do you have a tip for keeping your gouache wet
Hi MrBean. I just spritz water with a mister after I have used the pallet and it seems to add moisture.
I have some of the turner acrylic gouache I got mine on amazon and i really like it ❤so sad I missed you live u should totally do the Halloween stream that could be so fun ❤❤omg I love the painting so beautiful ❤❤❤❤ I love the colors you chose it’s so bright and beautiful ❤ i always struggled with elipses drawing still lifes in school, it was so painful lmao I think my favorite part of ur painting is the lemons and the glass so cool❤
Thanks for watching - I saw your wonderfull painting on IG and I love it a ton Amber!!. Wish you an awsome day.
@@MissLinux2010 thanks😊
That is absolutely beautiful! What would you say are the main differences between Rembrandt and the pastels you used in this video? Rembrandt are my favorite chalk pastels, they do take a little bit of getting used to though they are slightly hard when you first get them and once you’ve worked with them after a bit, they, wear down that strange outer coating that they have, but that’s kind of what I like about them. They’re not as messy in the hand.… I didn’t even know these 0HUHU pastels even existed! :-)
I got a bit intimidated after discovering the price difference so suddenly the Rembrandt became precious. So the big difference between the two brands is that I explore more with the inexpensive pastel from Ohuhu because I don't even regret breaking the stick in smaller pieces when needed or using a lot from one stick to make a background coverage and it might have an impact in the finished art work. I prefere Rembrandt because they are loaded with pigments and the layer is more opaque. I also find that the Rembrandt leave less dust. I have not had an Ohuhu stick crumble on me but have had issues with the Rembrandt suddenly crumble half an inch like the stick is fragile and that have been annoying since they are so expensive. The Rembrandt is a heavy stick so even small peices that you break off is nice to work with because they last longer where the Ohuhu is a lightweight stick so a small piece get used super fast so with that in mind: the Rembrandt might be pressed or packed harder with pigments and might last longer than the Ohuhu. Thank you so much for watching - I didn't know either that Ohuhu made soft pastels so when I purchased this I thought it was the oil pastels like the square ones from Lightwish.. lol
Your work is amazing as always Lina
Beautiful! -Linda R

Wow, that really makes the colors pop! Very cool.
This really makes them glow. I would like to see what it would look like on a acrylic painting. Thanks for sharing. Have a fab weekend.❤
Adding the varnish made them pop big time.
Hi you do such beautiful work! Thank you for sharing, hope you're doing well!
Love how good this is looking ❤ it definitely looks like u ❤❤
Thank for the reminder to consider the toxicity in our art supplies Lina. I love your self portrait “sketch” ( I would call it a mixed media masterpiece, not a sketch). Adding your eyebrows really finished it off! Tfs
Hi Lina. I love your portrait! You are truly beautiful inside and outside. Of course I don’t wish to expose myself to toxic chemicals…yikes. I am a very amateur artist so I don’t work with oil alot. There is a product called liquid gloves which I use when I remember. It is a crème. It helps matte medium and paint wash off my hands much easier. Maybe we can use it when smudging and protect ourselves? I am pretty sure I could not smudge in gloves. P.S, yes I consider you a professional artist and one of my favorites. Good luck with the contest. Have a lovely day! TFS.
