Hi Gary, I believe I remember you. I studied with Toni beginning in 1964 at the Watertown Dojo on Bigelow Ave. Remember Freddie Goodrich, Kent Davies and Kenny Sampson? Wild. I have studied with both brothers both in Watertown and in Naha. I left Toni when I was 50 to care for my mother in Rochester. I have been doing MuDong Kung Fu for 17 years, Grand Master Sam Wong. I am still training in my 70th year. Did you know Stanley Chow? He had a lot of internal power. I was known as Hank.

@Gadayif yeah there is morio higonna's goju ryu and meibukan goju ryu. I think higonna calls it goju kai. Its really hard to find these kata's online especially since dearly departed sensei miyagi left us and meibukan goju ryu is different from all the others. I keep trying to find seiryu (blue dragon) so I can learn it, but I can't find it.

I studied in Naha with Sensei Yagi. He is very powerfull.

Where does Sanchin-Tensho come from? I have seen the combination before. But I am wondering if it was from Dai Sensei Yagi Meitoku or from Meitatsu Sensei's contribution. Also, I recall the last two movements being done differently - one from Shujaku and one from Genbu endings. Perhaps that was done here and I missed it? As for the gray hair, I have also not seen Meitatsu Sensei in more than 15 years...then again, I'm looking older too, haha. Many thanks for posting the vid!

... sorry... typing with my thumbs... You probably could not move him with a forklift. The leaning forward relates to the application... front grappling, for example. You see front leaning shiko dachi in other Okinawan forms, e.g. Seipai, for ground attack. The later Japanese versions have made the stances more symmetrical in part for the beauty of the movement. Being beautifully vertical is no more balanced, especially if grabbed from behind, which does in fact occur in Seienchin.

@ArukiI Truth be told...he may have been practicing for over fifty years but if his performance on this kata is not good then their is a logical reason why. I have seen other videos of him and he looks excelent. So maybe this performance is showing some underlying health problem...

this kata is not right ur feet are supposed to touch and ur not supposed to step -- they move to fast in the begiinign --idk in my opinion i really dont liek itt well i like the strenghth and quikness bbut not everything is supposed ot be quik
