GoHunt Bonus Series #11 - Colorado Elk & Antelope
Yeah all 3 shots. 300win mag would have done it with the first shot
6mm creed is not big enough for an elk. That is a varmint rifle at best.
It isn't as big as most but the results speak for them self!
Sure a .338 will hit harder! But at reasonable range, under 400 yards, its a lot easier to get that shot where you want it. Recoil anticipation alone, makes it so much easier to get that accurate hit. Very few people, should be trying to hit anythin past 400yrds anyway. Go out to a 500 yard range, and see how many times you're hitting a 10 inch plate, first. Lots of people overestimate reality!

It goes transonic after 1200 yards
300 yards max for elk
who the hell is shooting at 700
Mr. Coffee
I cut the windpipe out. I don't know why.
Just out of curiosity to you generally have to know a company to get sponsorship? Been doing this a while and only had two official reach outs. But nothing that was in my content related field.
Yes! Throw that expandable away.
23 year Outfitter and guide in NW Montana! Fixed only, no reason to chance anything! Expandables are trash!
6.5 prc rifle
300 win.
30 06 just my opinion
Your all wrong. 7x57 has killed everything in the world
Gotta say 30 -06 best all around gun !
Started on .270 thats a mans rifle 130gr nosler at 3600 fps before it was cool to to push a 6mm bullet to but naked speeds. Deers doing front flips from the stopping power.
3600 ! It's not that fast 😮
I work with a guy who is an elk guide and all he shoots is a .270. But there’s something about having the confidence shooting a .300 win mag.
30.06 period
25.06! Shoots flatter, faster, less recoil. Beats 270 everytime. I will never buy another deer rifle
There’s that one buck that doesn’t know to die. 7mm or nothing.
Not everybody should be shooting 700 yards on elk. That’s the problem, everybody thinks they have to shoot long range to be successful. Everybody thinks you need a Mag because their favorite social media shooters thinks so or does so. Be mindful of your caliber’s limitations and hunt with whatever you are comfortable with. Get close and enjoy the hunt. Before anybody says it…..yes, I’ve killed elk with a 6.5 and 7-08. Shoot my bull last year at 40 yards.
It worked for grizz!!!

@@escott3829 that's the perfect setup!
This is awesome 👏
50cal or nothing, buck up lil man this aint kid shit 😂
People in California are cold with all their guns. I guess that's why they call it caliber. oops I meant to say cali-burr 🥶
.308
Wtf is a 270 win mag
That's the point
3006
Nothing wrong with that just a little big for elk!
Are you trolling?
Finally, another brother who knows the importance of eating food from a giant mixing bowl
30-06
Great option but heavy for antelope
@@TheWesternRookieHuntingPodcast then use sabot rounds , 65 grain 223 sabot rounds
As much as I understand paying for the hunt of a life time with an outfitter Im still a strong believer in learning to hunt should be free and passed down. Hunters ED and firearm safety should be tought in schools.
This AI imagery is embarrassing. Why use it? Lazy? Cheap?
Don’t use AI for thumbnails. Ai is deceptive
It was something new we were trying, but the AI is hilariously bad 😂
@@TheWesternRookieHuntingPodcastI’d be embarrassed for even trying. Support a friend and use their photos!
What’s up with the ret@rded AI thumbnail? Take a picture of the fuqqing gun.
Just don't make the mistake of going to a chambering and rifle build without first researching the barrel length to properly burn off the powder needed it for it to be optimal ballistically. People make the mistake of getting say a 6.5 PRC with a 20 inch barrel to "upgrade" a 23 inch factory barrel 6.5 Creed and find that they push the exact same FPS on a bullet of the same weight... minus the barrel life. Thanks for the Video!
@@foonus406 that's great advice

I think your channel and podcast are full of great information keep up the good work!👍
Thanks Calvin!!
I'm not sure 😂
,😊
Tfw you dont actually understand conservation or game management
Deer hunters only care about deer now adays. They don't care about habitat, they don't understand the ecosystem. They plant some food plots and kill a couple yotes and call themselves conservationists.
This is one of those smooth brained people.
