@@LetsTalkVillawe were getting almost one injury/suspension per game from game after premier week 33 last season when our form and energy levels clearly dropped. Over the course of the season we will need the full squad. We need basically 3 teams with an overlap of players due to fitness and availability :- 1) Champions League starting 11. 2) Premier League top tier starting 11 and the a Premier League rotational starting 11 that also covers the domestic cup games for the early rounds.

@LetsTalkVilla I think Rodgers will be used all over the front line. but if we don't sign a striker and duran goes then Rodgers will probably be watkins no2. The good thing is at the moment we have alot if players that can play numerous roles. We can switch tactics and formations easily depending on opponents

He's probably our beat all around player. Falling down the pecking order is inevitable in a squad that hits top 4 without you playing a single game. That doesn't mean he can't force himself back in. I hope the injury hasn't ruined him. He can do everything. He's a McGinn and Tielemans wrapped into One with some skill. He definitely won't be played on a wing by Unai but wherever he gets played, he could make it his position to be taken back from him

Two years ago we were unproven. At 20 then he probably hadn't heard of Aston Villa, since we have gatecrashed the Champions League with Emi Martinez and Olly Watkins as star performers. I agree on the pull of Barcelona but if he fancies the Premier League then Aston Villa under Emery and Monchi is an attractive option. In Emery and Monchi we trust.UTV.
