Dodge Neon Fuel Tank Swap/Playing with F̶i̶r̶e̶
I swapped my car from a 95-96 style gas tank to a 97-99 style plastic fuel tank. I gained range, and a better selection of fuel pumps! It also stopped leaking. Very happy with the results.

Dodge Neon NYG ACR Resurrected!

The top 3 things I’m good at are talking, getting distracted, and working on my beaters Finally after almost 2 years I got my neon running again and I’m happier than I can explain. I filmed this over several weeks so editing it together made it more of a narrative than a working video. I’ll do another video of me driving it here soon.
DIY Shine Juice (for a car)
Просмотров 2142 месяца назад
In this video I washed and scrubbed my Turbo Couch with an SOS pad and then made up my own version of the original VGG Shine Juice. I hate washing and cleaning cars so I've put this off for a long time. This is simply Mineral Spirits, a dash of Mineral Oil, and some Boiled Linseed oil. It doesn't last very long if you put it on thin, but it sure beats paying for a paint job. But, if you want to...
Repairing Mower after MAJOR damage (Lawnmower Chronicles 1)

My mower has been through a lot, mainly being owned by me, my wife, and my son. It's crap, but it still works for us. My wife hit a tree root and it ripped out a blade spindle, I'm not sure if it happened today, but there was a bunch of cracks in it that I end up welding. The video was interesting, but very difficult to hear. I take it you were trying to provide audio and video off of a cellphone cellphone. It depends on how much you need to shave the head but I used sandpaper, spray adhesive, and a piece of tempered glass to resurface and indeed shave slightly an aluminum 4 cylinder head a couple years ago, you need to change the paper often and be very careful to push and pull correctly but hey, its worth a shot. Use a straight-edge and a flashlight to check flatness often...Its not a bad idea if it works.
@@nicholasagnew2792 that’s been the consensus of ways I’ve seen it done lol. I might start with 40 to get the deep marks out and then step to 120 at an angle to finish it up and have a close RA to what I need. Thanks for the tip!

It amazes me that you could bring that old car back to life. Cause it was definitely showing its age. As an 8 year car stereo installer my feelings were hurt that you would use butt connectors. 😅 Always strip, twist & Solder. I particularly like 3M super tape. It’s basically water tight when you stretch it as you apply it. Once again impressed with your accomplishment nonetheless.
@@eastender74 thanks for the kind words! In high vibration scenarios crimping is usually the best way, but usually with better connectors lol. Most factory splices are done with sonic welding. If this was a stereo in my wife’s car I’d be more inclined to trust a solder and heat shrink job, but directly attached to the engine I’d be more worried.

My '99 DOHC Expresso gets about 28mpg (manual on a stock auto computer) but my previous cars (all DOHC Manual Coupes) got between 37-40. If you figure out why, I'd be curious, because I bought this car as a daily to take the load off my 2015 Mazda6 witth 282k miles on it....but the 6 gets about 35mpg.
@@jayinmi3706 so I just found a tiny fuel leak that I fixed, and the NYG is swinging between 33 and 38, so I’d assume it’s accurately getting 35. It’s hard to figure it out because the tank doesn’t vent properly so it’s hard to fill sometimes.
@@invujerry I have thee same problem. I replaced my fill tube with one from amazon, and it had a slice in the plastic vent tube, so I think that what's causing it but I'll have tto replace it later.
@jayinmi3706 my steel tank cars have always been dumb to fill. Went to the plastic tank and everything was well again.
@@RootBeerRacer Yeah, All of my Neons have been plastic tank cars. (2) 97 ACR coupes, a '98 R/T coupe and a manual swapped '99 Expresso coupe. I think the slice in the ven tube is acting like a hole in a straw when you ttry to drink a soda or something. I see a lot ooof people using stuff like this, and I'd be curious a) if it like wrinkles the paint or anything after a while, and b) how much it would effect it if you actually wanted to paint (or plastidip) the car.

Jerry, just in case you need somebody elses advice. Pull the deck up some its too low you might find it cuts better and you wont scalp the grass. Just my observations and the antiscalp wheels will have a chance to work. The anti scalp wheels are te small wheels on te outside edes of the deck they are designed to stop the deck from goin all the way down and touching the dirt when cutting. Happy late birthday and if i can help with your repair advice let me know. 😁
Much appreciate it man! We usually run the deck on the highest setting, but that area had been trimmed some. I do need to level the front out some but I had to cobble together the whole arm because it broke in the explosion my wife had caused lol

I wish friend, I had to bend the bottom into shape, and then each hole was cracked so I had to weld it. I shot the video just didn’t finish editing yet.
Hunter lost lawnmower privileges years ago when she clipped a tree stump and tore the spindle out of the deck.
I have a more detailed video coming but that’s what happened lol. I had to remove it through the bottom, weld the cracks up, and reinstalled it after bending it back into shape.

Sorry to hear about your back issues. I feel for you man. I bulged or ruptured... (honestly not sure) L5-S1 back in 2010 at work and what a terrible experience that would up being. As the doctor explained to me, the disc is like a jelly donut. Once you rupture it and the jelly comes out... it doesn't go back in. Fortunately for me, at this point after many years It doesn't bother me on the daily like it did back then. I can overdo it and be out of commission, i'll still end up with sciatica, the foot/leg tingles etc but i'm at least functional. There was a good year or two where I felt worthless just like you. To be fair I still feel worthless but it's largely not due to my back.
That’s exactly where and how he explained my issue. The leg numbness and being in pain from leaning over is killing me
Yeah it's awful. I vividly remember meeting up with Dante (John Holmes) at Eat N Park in Pittsburgh back in 2010 shortly after my injury and we stood in the parking lot talking and it was fucking hell standing there shuffling between feet trying not to have that god awful radiating pain.
