    You've split the 2x4s by driving the screws with no pre-drilling into them. Those screws are not holding the wood securely.

    Thanks for the time and details you've included in this process. Your descriptions and explanations are above average and make things very understandable and logical. The only question I have (as a novice) is on the liquid nails going on top of the insulation paper over the joist and not adhering to the joist itself. Wouldn't that just stick the Avantech to the paper and not the joist?

    • @diyhoneymooners
      @diyhoneymooners 2 месяца назад

      Actually no. We made sure to adhere it to the joist. The paper did not cover everything.we are also trying to Cover gaps. The OSB is not being held in place by glue. It’s being held in place by all the screws.

      @thecollector77 9 месяцев назад

      No grout already comes with sealer especially if you go with the mapai ultra color plus PF it's a faster setting grout though so you have to work a little faster you can't just spread it and leave it un attended have to spread it and then tool it and wipe it on a 45 with a sponge. I'm a 10 year pro and it's my preferred brand. Lowes sells the product.

    • @diyhoneymooners
      @diyhoneymooners Год назад

      Good question. You certainly can hang a double rim joist. Just depends on how you go about installing your deck ledger. If you do a complete length ledger first, then yes, a double rim joist hanger is the way to go. Simply a matter of preference. Thanks!

    The 3-4-5 rule works with any multiplier, no matter how big. So if you don't want to stick a piece of scrap off of a board that's 71.5" away from the wall to get to a multiple of 3 for feet, just use inches. You could use a multiplier of 23 and do 69" for your 3 side, 92" for your 4 side and 115" for your 5 side. Also this video is amazing and I can't wait to see the rest. I'll be building a porch and deck for my house next summer and this is already a very educational and helpful video for understanding how to do it!

    • @diyhoneymooners
      @diyhoneymooners Год назад

    So what do you do if it’s not level? Do you line it up with the level line? Or how do you compensate the difference? Thanks!

    • @grimmheart
      @grimmheart Год назад

      If your cabinets are not level, you would mark a "ledger line"; a line above the countertops that is level. You would lay your tile starting on this ledger line; it's a starting line which is level, and then work your way up. Then you would have to scribe the first row of tiles from your ledger line down to your countertops. So if there's a 1/4" difference (or greater), you're able to cut each tile individually over the difference and still keep a level pattern for the install.

      This particular post from this manufacturer called for this. You will find different posts have different methods of attachment, some have an L bracket. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for sure. The key here is to make sure you have the proper support while you are removing the post. Thanks for the comment!

    I have a quick question. I was running a floor fan in my home the other day for a birthday party. The string from a ballon got caught in the fan. The problem i have is the screws holding on the fan cover are so small and tight that i cant get them off. I used different sized screw drivers but im afraid ill strip the screws. How can i get the screws off and if i can what would you suggest to remove the string so i can use the fan?

    • @diyhoneymooners
      @diyhoneymooners Год назад

      That's a great question. They do make screw drivers that are very tiny. Think of the screws in glasses, they make them that small. You may have to go out and find the small screw driver that will wok for your fan. Think of it this way, they assembled the fan with screws so chances are they used a screw driver, right? Check out this link for a few options. Always good to have it in case this happens again: <a target="_blank" href="www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=UTF8&tag=diyhoneymoone-20&linkCode=ur2&linkId=0d6e1cef5447e7c62e4bef0999e336b5&camp=1789&creative=9325&index=tools&keywords=Tiny Screwdrivers">Tiny Screwdrivers</a> Now IF they do strip, you may want to use long scissors or some type of utility knife to try to cut up the balloon string that is inside the fan. If you get it into enough small pieces, you will be able to get them to fall out. Good luck with your balloon-fan- fiasco! Let us know how you made out!
