So jealous to not have seen them before Sing the Sorrow!
I was at this show!! I was 15!!! That’s me in the pit! For real tho… I’m trying to see me in the pit. Haha
This tour was great. Was my first show of many, in Cincinnati, they opened for Sam Hain and Danzig. I was 13? Still to this day one of the craziest most violent show I've witnessed. It was amazing. Seen AFI more times than I can count. The best show I saw was 1999 (i think) warped tour in nowhere KY.
I was 10 years old. My 16 year old brother told me we were going to see AFI a week before this show. I was so excited. The day of the show the ride showed up and was full because someone's girlfriend decided to go. I got left behind and missed this show. To this day I still give my brother shit about that.
Huge bummer
Theory of a Revolution live! Nice!
I was at this show. 18 years old. At 13 I discovered AFI when they released Answer that and Stay Fashionable. Changed my life. By the time Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes came out, I was all in. But then Black Sails dropped and I was transformed. That is when I learned you could love Hip Hop, Punk, Jazz, Opera, Classical and Electronic, without feeling like you needed to adhere to one or the other. AFI did it all at once, with a charged bucket of energy and firepower in the form of music. Changed my life. Black Sails and Shut Your Mouth albums should be required listening.
I don't believe that was jade? in my opinion he was their down fall! I still listen n enjoy new afi but miss this!!!!
Greggory Carroll Jade their downfall? Hahahaha- no.
These must have been the days. 9 year old me didn't know what I was missin' ha!
love seein younger gen. like me that like old afi! tho I was listening at 9!! but that's cause of my older bro.
Funny how everyone is saying I was 3 or 4 years old when this happened, I feel so old cause I was 13 or 14 when this show happened hahaha. And I did go to see their show in my sophomore year.
I was 19
goah i wish I was there but this happened when I was 3 years old.
kyttylolable I actually lived in San Francisco at this time and didn’t go to this show because I thought they were new school punk poseurs (like Green Day, MxPx, Sum 41, etc. etc.). Got turned onto them a couple years later and totally regret it as they had that old school vibe that reminded me of going to punk shows in the early 80s. They easily could have fit in the 70s/80s punk scene.
I just realized that I stood pretty much in the same spot when I filmed them in 2010 at Slim's. Haha.
I was at both those shows!! so glad these are up here!!
What. The. F**k. Happened.
Hell yeah man AFI 4ever
My friend in middle school was a punk she made me a mixed CD in it was God called in sick today I fell in love with that song after that I researched AFI in the library computers and discovered the band that would become my all time favorite
last caress!
release "the monster"
Best AFI concert ever! Too bad I was only 11 in 1999.
Invent a time machine so I can see this in person! Black Sails is my favorite.
even if he was gay, why is acting homosexual a problem? for the record he has a hot ass girlfriend too
Life just isn't as good anymore
This era of AFI was simply magical. There is no other way to describe it. I was 16 when this record came out and it literally changed my life. The energy and chemistry at the shows from this period would literally just melt your face off. I remember going to a Sick of it all show with them opening up and it was just pure chaos.
dude, shit. i was 4 years old when this happened. and i know all these songs. what i would do for a time machine. fuuuuck
id pay 14 if I had a time machine!
They played Slim's the next night too. May 29th. Did anyone go to that? I'm thinking maybe that's when they played Strength Through Wounding for the first time.
This was the first show I ever went to. God damn, I feel so old. I wasn't even 10 yet at this show haha.
OMG. I still love them but I really wish I had seen them during this era.
I was here. A lot of the camera flashes at the show here were mine. Hah.
@Velvetdeath1 ROFL!
damn Nick 13 is HUGE
ROFL 5:56 We appreciate the warm welcome - YOU SUCK
its like this scene died, then underground hip hop had a similar following, and now no one just goes out anymore!!
im with dustin lol
lol i saw the new video of afi and my first thought was this video...is amazing how they changed....and they changed for worse....now they are shitty emos (in general emo sucks lol)...I would also pay $500 for 1 ticket fot this setlist...
AFI used to be so cool
When I had first heard this album I realized it was the music I had always wanted.
Where did u get this? Did u find it somewhere?
fuck this band used to be EPIC. WTF happened?
aww the little kid singing in file 13
@sickfuckino SUFFERED THE IGNORANCE
@godlesswickedvanian I dont mind someof days music. but yes punk is head.
@TheMercurykiller hahahaha. Today's music is horrible. Punk is dead.
I am so jelious of any one who saw them at this point in time.
@Dustin795 same here. love them in the nineties.
@MMLittle71 I just saw them for ten bucks. Hahahaha.
exactly....and it hurts
they evolved, they're great now if you just give 'em a chance. :)
It has a DU feel because this is from the DU sessions.
God damn, I still love AFI. All the new material still can't tarnish what they have created.
All their new fans and only 1,100 views. Who can say they saw them for fifteen bucks.
