With Beverley, James, Freddie, and Bill. Beverley got stung by a wasp on the way down, but it did seem to give her a performance boost for the rest of the day. Maybe wasp venom is performance enhancing?

So beautiful road ! thank you for sharing this video
.. "do you want a sandwhich?", nahh just some jelly babies luv.
Cycling Rocks
Perfect ending - "Can I get you a sandwich?"
Woah, sketchy passing @ 23:50. Nice job descending.
An aero gilet is the best piece of kit you can own for the mountains. Aero, wind-proof and lightweight! :) Galibier can be freezing!
Great video!!!
Nice clip, but descending at "full speed"? Check out my video response for what would be more akin to "full speed". ;-)
FANTASTIC. One of the best cycling vids I have seen. I cycled in the Alpes for a week in 2012 from Bourg d'Oisans and I was more nervous watching the descending here than when I was on my bike.
7:56 Fast descent with strong windy noise in mic. 8:48 Scene switches to a slow climb. I lol'd. xD The mood changes so drastically.
Beautiful day, nice downhill ride, and a sandwich. What could be better? :)
How cold was it at the top/on the way down. I'm doing this in 2013 and want to know what to take on the ride (arm warmers & gilet or warmers & rain cape type jacket).
fantastic ride and great video.makes me want to go there
How much do you weigh? Or are you on an iron bike?
great video thanks for sharing
great video and wicked descents....
How are you filming this?? is it a GoPro with a chest or handlebar mount?
You smashed it on the descents!!!!! might do this next year, only really been cycling for a year, do you think it might be a step too far for a relative newbie?
that was wicked dude,fairplay....u must have good wheels and brakes..
How much braking is required to descend something like this safely? - Do you brake all the way down, just at corners? or "submit" to the speed and force yourself to trust the bike?
Nobody pedaling??
.. nice video, 2009 i used an camera but was not as clear & the battery went south after 5hours. i posted 7h'58 for marmotte plus i had an flat decending glandon. i noticed things got an little dangerous with the cars & oncoming riders, seriousley man double breast over taking an car.. people die on that decend (the unlucky ones)
Just came back from Lanzarote.Did the route up through Tabayesco and it's a great stretch of road
Excellent video! The Marmotte has a really scenic route and you had great weather. Nice descending and a strong finish too - good job!
longboarding in lanzorote soon :)
Well done! Such an epic tour... and very nicely filmed.
Descends like this one always scare the shit out of me...I will never be good at it.
4:08--4:10..is that your horn choking or you trying to cough... Next time you ride past the Cutty Sark please spare a few seconds taking videos ....PLEEEEZ
@yetanothermichael Hello again, Thank you so much for reply. In fact I meant about something else.. Each Schwalbe tyre has 240 studs and, acc to some people, you loose them while riding. Can you comment this opinion from your experience? Have you lost many studs from your tyres? (I assume you ride often during winter...)
Great ride, Michael! Looks like a lot of fun on the way to work... Is it so that the studs come out from the Schwalbe Marathon Winter tyres? At least such opinion is shared in Finland. For me the big advantage is the reflective rim for safety... Please comment...
@yetanothermichael How do you prepare yourself mentally to take on the challenge of cycling up a mountain? Which bike do you ride?
@yetanothermichael How long did you train for before you did this ride?
This is brilliant!!! How long did it take to cycle to the summit of the mountain?
how long is the descent.
wow. amazing
great video! i climb up that way then headed to the telegraph. im not sure i could trust unfamiliar riders to pass them in some places you did :)
Real nice, thanks for the video, very inspiring. Hope to do the Marmotte in a year or two after a long break looking after my kids. Probably cliched but what kind of average speed and max did you get? Looks like you were fairly tooling it down the mountain.
The bend at 6:05 always seems to have a strong breeze blowing across from the right, helping hold you on the curve.
A mate of mine just sent me the link as he spotted me in the video (from 1:05 to 1:20 - I'm the guy in red). Pretty cool to see the imgaes back again. Tough ride...
Enyoyed this, but then I do live in Albuñol, 14m 18s past my turning lol nice video x
I'm not to jealous, honest ;-)
I jumped through the 17 minutes a bit but it looked cool, what speed did you max out at?
Brake that shit down - I was waiting for you to fold it up at the end...
3:45 About here feel just great... the sun is up yet it's cool (about 8am), most of the first big climb is done and there's a long downhill and valley section next. The endless slog up the Telegraphe/Galibier and the furnace of south-facing Alpe d'Huez haven't figured in the thoughts too much.
Nice video. I'm in Columbus, Ohio and need studded tires these days.
Nice video. Great memories.
Cool
Fook! That's amazing ;-P
What camera setup are you using?
I'd also lower your saddle. And I would make the saddle go back 1-2cms. Relax your shoulders. This way your head will get a little more down
