Is that how all FTR hare scrambles are, the start. Thinking about doing the one Jan4th and 5th. Never been to an FTR race and ill be solo. Just wondered is that the normal start procedure and is there people there nice enough to hold someones bike for them if they need itm

Hudson tried to blame me for his mishap. lol. Kid was riding well and left me in the dust. There were so many tricky spots on that course and any one of them could ruin your day so I guess I’ve gotten better but it also wears you out. Once tired then anything can happen and by the end you feel like a beginner. lol. We all love complaining and yet like a junky, we come back for more. Thank you to the club Sun Runners and the Florida Forestry Dept.

I was there at the campground. ( I was there for two straight months getting ready) then the Thursday before the event, the campground was closed . I drove back to Boca Raton. I commend you guys for working with the Rangers to make the race happen, I did not think it would. Last year the park was closed for 5 days after a hurricane. Mark Scalzia did a lot to make sure it happened. Good job !

Watch out for that Daniel White guy, he is pretty sketchy!!! You guys should background check who you let in that group!!!

Great chat, I leave a spare camelback at the gas stop to plop on me. I also load up on potassium non stop all the time prior to the race.

Do not take broken ribs lightly. I did and almost died. In Jan 2020 I crashed my KTM 300 at Croom, 4th gear wide open. I did not think much of it. I even rode another hour. Then the next day the pain set in and I could not move. I waited at the Croom campground a week. I finally drove home to south FL. I figured I would rest for a few weeks. After all I've smashed my ribs about 3-4 times at FTR races. After 3 weeks I was not healing and did not realize I was not able to breath well as my oxygen level was so low. Anyway I ended up in ER and lost my left lung. It was internal injuries called a plural effusion that got infected. I still ride and will be at Croom all of Sept 2024 and then race the Croom enduro.
