I love this. My driver carpet has to be changed and I bought the acoustic/heat boards as an underlayment but I honestly felt like it needed more. This is a great firm topper! Cheers 🍻
Taking a heat gun a a roller would of helped stretch it around the corners and contours
Great Video! I need to to do this job on a 1974 Jeep J10 and I was wondering if your garage can perform this job? Thanks
Muy bueno amigos se los recomiendo
Im replacing mine now. Buy a QUALITY MOLDED KIT to start with. This is a good example on what NOT TO DO
What happens when you can't find a molded kit for your vehicle? I've been looking and can't find anything to fit. That's why I ended up here trying to find out how to do it myself.
Same thoughts with xsr. What is the best material to work with from scratch if there's no availalble off the shelf kits?
excellent trip! hope to see more overlanding
Where did you buy the anti fatigue mat from?
WOW 2min20 of slowmo pressure washing.
Great video. Thank you.
You can make it run. ❤️
I don't have the money for autocross but I love being the bastard that goes to pool tournaments and picks a stick off the wall to smoke the guy that spent all that money on his new cue
Scenery like this makes me want to leave California, but I'm so attached to my beaches.
You do not adjust to the body. Compare center of track to centerline of the car.
what the actual hell. You absolutely butchered that custom molded vinyl. All for what, you couldn't be bothered to ask for help and figure out how to get it fit right so you went in like a caveman and smeared all that JB Weld crap. You say it looks nice to you well, ok, maybe that's all that matters. It's a look that matches the rest of the car I guess but to me, it's looks really bad.
Can you share a guide or a process on how it could have been done the best way?
I did similar with my old suburban. I used cheap closed cell foam sleeping pads for camping.
Great idea. I see you used spray adhesive to hold in place. If you needed can you get the mats out without ripping things apart now?
this is a terrible idea! The cold metal meets warm cabin air will create condensation and that condensation is going to get trapped underneath the waterproof barrier and stay there until it gets moldy and rust the panel. There's a reason why people use jute and it's because any water that gets to the jute can evaporate away from metal panels. Don't believe me? try this yourself and your car's going to smell all moldy within a year.
Real nice!
Prⓞм???
I can still freshly remember you being stuck and I had to drive illegally to get my covid test done for my trip haha.
that night was hell
looks great !!
Thank you
Looks like fun. Please, whatever you do, wheel the cherokee, have fun, but don't destroy the thing. Not many of those things left. Happy jeeping!
Definitely its my first love and it desperately needs some armor
Do you think using a heat gun would have helped?
definitely just make sure not to overheat the material. I found that a regular hair dryer was plenty hot enough to keep the vinyl soft and flexible without burning the foam underneath. You can just shove the hair dryer under the vinyl and leave it running while you work.
Channel is growing
Thank you. Slowly but surely, I've been dealing with moving the past couple months but I'm excited to push some new content.

I need to get this done on my 75 cherokee
Hows that going? I'm curious on how well a fresh floor kit fits
...it's like watching Tom Hanks in the movie CASTAWAY. Bravo. ;)
Thanks, I think I'm a shoe in for the oscars.
How is it working out for you??
I live in a fairly dry climate but I haven't had any issues so far. the sound is much better and if dust gets under the floor I can just lift the vinyl and vacuum it up.
Name brand products are TOTALLY out of sight in price! I damm near fell over when I was told $150.00 for 12 sq feet. This is the way to go 👍thanks
I see no lie here. hell I still have plenty left over for armrests
The racing seats will help a lot when autocrossing
Finally a new video! Next up is fixing some abused tires
Hello I was thinking of building an adjustable parhard rod for my micra How does it holding up for you? I see that it's been 4 months since you uploaded the video
The modified bar has held up great. its a little heavier than stock but I haven't had any issues. I'd recommend make the cuts at the pivot points instead of the center for added strength but for a small Micra you will be fine.
This makes sense. It's waterproof unlike the usual carpet and insulation that soaks water and moisture that leads to rust.
Thank you, its definitely an improvement and in the off chance enough water gets in at least it wont smell as bad
You did a good job. Much better results than I did. LOL
Thank you, how did you do it?
@@rocksnrally5530 with my ex. LOL But we enjoyed doing it, so... Good results, it just looks less organized.
@@jamesdriggers2981 as long as it works
Is that a freakin bed sheet? Actual headliner material has a thin foam backing that will hide small imperfections, help it lay on more smoothly, and not soak through with glue. More importantly, It will look like new after only having to do the job once, and not like you have a wrinkly bed sheet glued to your roof. I literally paid only $23 for enough of the correct stuff to redo mine. Bro I hate to say it, but this is the kind of work you hide and don't show others.
Not a bed sheet but just some good looking fabric from the store. I'll end up redoing the headliner in the future but I wasn't looking to spend much until I was confident that the board wouldn't just break apart. Thank you for the comment and advice on a better material.
Where did u get the headliner fabric
just something from the fabric store but in the future I'll end up getting some padded fabric to hide imperfections www.yourautotrim.com/graphite.html
how has the headliner held up? i did this exact process twice and after a week in the summer the glue let go....re did with fiberglass sheet and resin over old foam and headlinerboard (the whole thing) then used the glue on the fresh fiberglass after cured, and put fabric down....much stonger hold. not sure of ur location, but for me the headliner adhesive was $50 a can and i went through almost 3 cans (5 if i count the screw up), and the fiberglass and resin was just shy of $100
It's been holding up for me in the desert heat just have to make sure to remove all the old crumbly foam. 3M super 77 is the best off the shelf spray you just have to spray light so it doesn't soak into the fabric. $50 a can??? that hurts buddy, I'm glad the fiberglass worked better for you.it will definitely outlast mine
@@rocksnrally5530 awesome to hear! I couldnt believe my eyes when i saw the fresh headlinerfabric hanging. Who knows, maybe it was old stock...i must have went over the fiber board 5 times to make sure all thenold foam was off, wax and grease remover too...let that evaporate for 24hrs, first one i figured it was a fluke but after the 2nd i was like wtf lol. Anwyays glad to hear its holding up, take care 🍻

Thank you and You're Welcome I couldn't find a decent video on the jeep dana 20 so I decided to make one
Keith I saw your Comment but you must have deleted it. There are guide pins in between the shift rods. for the Rear shift rod I stuck a large screwdriver through the hole on the end to pull up while pushing the other shift rod in and out to get the pins to move out of the way. Also take out those screws that I unscrewed at 4:45. eventually the rear shift rod will come out. I'd say leave a few bolts in the front cover to make pulling on the shift rods easier
This was the first video I started filming when I decided to start a channel. which is why the clips are so bad. I was only able to film about half the process.
Third gen camaros naturally tear the steering box and frame area at low speeds and high resistance. You are killing the camaro. Get a later camaro with rack and pinion or mustang's with rack and pinion
Good point, steering boxes don't hold up well to torque. I'll reinforce the mounting if it starts cracking.
@@rocksnrally5530 just install a wonderbar. You get them everywhere. Thats all you need to do besides the normal other suspension mods of course. You need some better springs and shoscks for this type of driving and I prefer the quick ratio steering box a lot more than the normal one.
@@firefox7530 I was actually thinking about making a wonderbar but they were so cheap that I ended up ordering one. You're right about the springs and shocks though. I've been putting it off because i've wanted to go coilovers.
