Yes you are right! When I tuned my old heads they sounded good, but I use the drums in studio and I need better quality out of them, and the old heads would last for like 20 minutes, then I need to retune them!

And they are pretty expensive nowadays!😅😅 I waited a long time to afford them and my wallet still didn’t like it.

The old heads have EQ too, because I record with my phone, so I want a better sound!

@@benicsakmate yeah. So weird question but how’s life as a drum tech. I’m a drummer too and I’m in a band too. I play guitar for my band and backing vocals. I’m just curious how being a drum tech is.

I mean it’s alright. If you play for a bigger band I think it is a dream come true, bit for smaller bands like the one I am in are a bit more harder. I have to set up the drums from scratch every time and put them down to scratch every time. In big bands they have a “preset” to make it easier so you just have to put up the cymbals and maybe the snare drums. The other things are not necessarily hard, maybe tuning needs a bit more time. During a show there is always a problem with the kit, 90% of the time the problems are the stands, they fall or just break. That’s it in a short way😅

@@benicsakmate honestly i don't even hear it on the recording but the sheet music i am using notated it. I just checked the portnoy video to make sure the transcriber wasn't hallucinating but yeah portnoy does the ghost notes lol

95% watching others and listening to a lot of music! The last year I started to learn how to read music and it helps too! But I would say watching others is like a cheat code

Hey! I decided to tune these drums. These are 1 and a half year old heads and the video was made with my phone! Also you can see there is no dampening on the toms, only the snare! If you watch one of my full videos you will hear them better!
