The pre-show film can be English or French. Lobby is the same set up as Hollywood studios where you can go left or right for pre-show alternating with each group. Alternates between English and French. The actual ride seems to be the same every time.

I believe it's different depending on which lift you got on. This is the same that I went on a year ago.

Worth the wait!

Yeah they took out some of the darker stuff during the last major refurb - worth watching an old ride through.

​@@themedexplorerThe 1992 version was much more scarier. But pitch black. Bare see anything due to outdated lightbulb. 2019 refurbishment was necessary The Storytelling is much more clear now than before.

I loved loved Vincent Price, watched every movie he ever made. Don't know what your age is butt in the 1960s they had beach party movies with Annette funicello and Frankie Avalon and in the first one of the series which was beach party, Vincent had a small role. Cracks me up everytime I I see it

I don’t like that she’s there at all. I liked when the staircase was empty and she used to welcome you at the beginning of the ride where the suit of armor is now.

The Disney World one is such a classic though! Feel like it’s in the group with things like Pirates of the Caribbean where there’s small tweaks but never radical change.

i am from orlando and it's my opinion: WDW tower of terror NEEDS a refurb!! the drop profiles are not synced with the ride and the audio is very OFF! however, i think that they should not change the story, i'd update the drop profiles but i would NOT change rod serling, the corridor and the 5th dimension. furthermore, according to me, "a new dimension of chills" should be an halloween overlay and they should bring back the old version after halloween time.

Nice to have a more original one in Paris - the Orlando, Anaheim and Tokyo ones are all so similar

@@themedexplorer yes i think. i visited disneyland paris in 2017 and after riding ToT, i heard a different spirl which was like the old california tower

Glad we could give you the chance to experience it. I’ll always have a soft spot for the Orlando version. I like how different this one is to the other haunted mansions but definitely agree that opening part where there’s just darkness is weird!

There’s long back story to phantom manor that isn’t entirely clear just from the ride. The story is that the phantom is the ghost of the brides father. He didn’t approve of her marriage before he died then came back as the phantom and killed her husband. He’s supposed to be a figure of torment throughout the ride which is why he’s always doing that evil laugh!

Worse. It's her father. In the original version, the bride (Melanie Ravenwood) was in a relationship with a man her father did not approve of. Mr. Ravenwood then died in a cave in, which Melanie took as her chance to finally get married. However, her father returned as thge Phantom and killed the groom on Melanie's wedding day by hanging him in the attic.. The new version gave Melanie relationships with a few other men, that all died in tragic "accidents" orchestrated by her father. The phantom, apparantly, still killed the groom, dooming Melanie to wait for all eternity.

When was it renewed than?

​​@@themedexplorerTo sum up and most likely Henry Ravenswood is actually the Phantom. He led all Melanie's suitors onto their demise cuz none of them were good enough for them. Even the Train Engineer hanged on the raft. Lured by the Phantom

how do you hide the strapped recording GoPro camera before the ride starts?

You wouldn’t need to hide it if it’s strapped to your chest. They just won’t let you hold a camera or phone in your hand at Disneyland Paris. Having said that different cast members seem to interpret the rules differently so always worth asking. I’ve seen them stop rides on numerous occasions because someone was holding a phone or camera.
