I think you have been in Kamaishi before. I rembered the Plaza with the Miffy Cafe. Whern I saw the flooding mark on the building I thougt that we have the same in Europe. In cities by a river you can find these marks too on old buildings, they go back centuries. Two storeys is heavy.

I visit Kamaishi for work once or twice a year. The area around Kamaishi was one of the regions heavily affected by the tsunami on March 11, 2011, and the sight of many brand-new buildings ironically brings back painful memories.

Definetely an interesting district. Never heard of Monja but looks yummy. This island exists in an amazing contrast between these lil historic alleys and the massive apartment blocks around. But these small alleys in my opinion give a good impression of the old Tokyo.

What a nice and sophisticated area. Jiyugaoka belongs to the prominent western suburbs. What's about the mall "La Vita Jiyugaoka", was it prohibited to film ? It's a unique place in Tokyo, a lil Venice well copied. I think a desirable place to live.

Cool to see Ikebukoro ist still lively and trendy. For me most fascinating is to see Sunshine60 Tower is towering over these lil backstreets. Interesting walksaround in Sendai. Unfortunately in Europe only few markethalls survived. Instead we have temporary markets on places, especially in France. Verry cool was this hidden shrine at the end. Anywhere interesting places to find.

I thought there were many markets in Europe, which was very unexpected😧 It was really interesting to see shrines hidden in the town, and I'm going to look for them in Tokyo too👍

Interesting flight. Kanto is a massive plain what you can see on several photos, and all built. I think it became the name "infinite city". But especially landing on a Military Airbase is unique, cool insight. 👍

Yeah, I didn't expect to see a US military plane at the airport in Aomori, so it was a very valuable experience!😊👍

Interestingly areas around bigger stations often look similar. Narrow streets with it's bars and restaurants. Also a main shopping street. And I think it's functional for people when coming home. Chiba has interesting places to see.

Thank you for your comment! In Japan, major train stations are equipped with many dining and shopping areas both inside and around the station, making them very convenient. There are also many enjoyable spots to explore while walking around😄

For the first time I see a japanese Fireworks Festival in full lenght. It's amazing long and impressive. The longest I've ever seen was about 25min. I guess it was a great evening for the family.🎆👌

When you say so, it was worthwhile for me to take the pictures😊 I thought the fireworks would be over in about 30 minutes, so I was very tired of taking pictures with my handheld camera😅

I like Sendai Station cause of it's glasroof. It pours in a lot of natural light. And treelined avenues are the best for comfortable walk, especially in summer. A nice place ! P.S. Enjoy Obon week with your family !

For many foreigners Tokyo is at first narrow and overcrowded. But It is relatively typical for Tokyo that when you leave main streets or hotspots you suddenly find yourself in a quit residental area. Something that also my colleague noticed when was in Tokyo.

Yes, Tokyo has a population of 14,000,000. One of the characteristics of Tokyo is that the towns where those people live are spread out between famous commercial areas.
