When Nuno used to release new music...
Only just bought the Population 1 album this week. Love this song, it's really beautiful. The vocal performance particularly pulls me in.
I read a comment by a vocal tutor who said that Nuno, incredibly, sings most of the chorus in just one breath. Also I think that the ease of switching between the breathy verse and the full-voice chorus (overdubs or not - it was still the same session) speaks to the fact that he was in a great place in himself at the time. And we get to hear it. For free. And they say there is no God...

@@runeer Both are good. Or: The song is hauntingly beautiful, regardless of the version. But I love how Gary's and Nuno's voices play together in the Extreme version (why I prefer it). I think it's best to have them repeat endlessly - first one, then the other. At least if you're in the mood for sadness.
@@fryke I love them both, and I actually heard Extreme's version first. I like Nuno's version better as its arrangement has got that "glitchy internet/computer" kinda feel, especially the guitar solo.
I just love Nuno"s voice and prefer this version. But the song is great, both versions gives me chills.

Came back to read your comment and heard this brilliant song again! It'll be stuck in my mind all day. I love all of the Extreme fellows, so do my kids. RocknRoll Fantasy Camp was one of the highlights of my life, and I was just a fly on the wall. I left the hospital early to see Mourning Widows after my last child was born. Soundtrack to my life, these folks.
A shame greatness is bearly recognized anymore. When Nuno bailed, so did bassist Carl Restivo & kFigg. Satellite Party kaput. Kevin also played/recorded with Nuno in his Population 1/Dramagods bands. Congrats to your youngin' for RnR Fantasy Camp. I watch on VH1. Maybe I saw him/her! Own none of Suze's or Gary's other works altho like her work & Hurtsmile/TribeJudah. I seem to be fixated only on Extreme and Nuno's work; except, Nuno or not, I refused to buy Sat.Party's "Ultrapayloaded."
Yes, that guy. I didn't like the attitude of the other guy other clips, like on the Letterman show. Kinda like he took all the glory, but really, they were ALL in the presence of greatness - Nuno - and wasn't Kevin with Nuno then? Saw the Saudades tour, my kid was in Rock n Roll Fantasy Camp. It was a highlight of my life. We have Suze's music, and Hurtsmile is a rocking good project, too. Adult life is complicated.

Hey, Lil Jo! You mean Perry Farrell (Jane's Addiction) from Satalite Party? Yeah, gave me the creeps, too. Glad Nuno bailed on him mid-tour in July 2007 and reunited with Extreme to create Saudades de Rock in '08 and Take Us Alive tour in '09. Love Extreme; love Nuno. It's all good!
Had noticed but had hoped I was wrong. Didn't hear the bad news until 3/02/12 that Suze had announced in Oct. 2011 that she and Nuno had "separated" in Oct. 2009. Bummer. Thought they were perfect for each other being in the same business, etc. Guess not. Feel the worst for their kids, Bebe and Lorenzo. Doesn't anybody stay together anymore?
That singer guy from that other band kinda looks like Monty Hall.... I personally thought he treated Nuno shabbily - I'd have exited too! Love this song.
