For as broken as Chaotix’s main mechanic is, it’s absolutely the prettiest and best sounding Sonic game of the 90’s. It’s also the last of the console side scrollers before Mania, which is insane to think about.

Light and Darkness, these are the two halves of heart, the building blocks that make up the very foundation of reality in the world of KH. They are complete opposites, natural enemies, yet also true equals and thus they are always paired together in Kingdom hearts. From Sora and Riku to Xehanort and Eraqus the series shows us how these 2 elements interact with one another both the good and the Bad, and unfortunately for the later duo they represent the bad.It is established very early on that Eraqus and Xehanort are a clear parallel to Sora and Riku, both a pair of childhood friends,share a brother like bond, represent light and Darkness, and are destined to clash. Yet unlike Sora and Riku, Eraqus and Xehanort fail to hold on to their connection in the face of their inevitable cosmic conflict. Their story does not end with a glorious reunion nor a tender heart to heart but rather with a stab in the back. And why is this? Why does one pairing represent the duality of light and darkness whereas the other represents the conflict? Well to put it simply it’s Because Sora never gave up on Riku whereas Eragus gave up on Xehanort. In KH1 Sora never lost his faith in Riku. Even after he betrayed Sora and Tried to strike him down Sora still believed in his friend not just because of their friendship but because of Sora’s own understanding of the heart. Sora believes that all hearts care a spark of light that will never go out no matter how much darkness consumes them. And at the end of KH1 Riku proves Sora’s faith right when he returns at the end of the game to help seal the door to Darkness. Sora could only put his faith into Riku because he understood the true Nature of Light and thus became the other half that was needed for both him and Riku to achieve duality. Eragus on the other hand does not truly understand the light. His understanding of Light and darkness is based not on an understanding of the heart but rather on a dogmatic principle of absolutes. To Eragus not even the smallest sliver of Darkness can be tolerated. So when Xehanort comes to Eraqus with questions over the Keyblade war and the secrets of the Hearts Eraqus simply treats his friend like an enemy. He pays no mind to Xehanort’s feelings or concerns, simply ignoring his friends' words to declare him evil. It is Eraqus who strikes the first blow against Xehanort, Eraqus who gives up on his friend, and Eraqus who breaks Xehanort's trust. Ironically enough pushing Xehanort further into darkness. However before we end things I must point out that Xehanort is far more than just a Parallel of Riku. For there is another Boy who shared the same Sky as him. Thats Right Xehanort is also a parallel and foil for Sora. The similarities were always there after all, both are children of destiny island who dreamed of visiting other worlds, and while it’s fair to assume these elements are just here for the sake of making connections to Riku there is one scene where the parallels become Between Xehanort and Sora become undeniable. At the end of Terra’s Story when he becomes Norted Xehanort does something very interesting. He stabs in the chest with a keyblade just like how Sora did in Hollow Bastion. Even their bodies disappear the same way. And this moment is so interesting because it brings to light how Similar Sora and Xehanort are to each other while also Highlighting their differences. While their actions in both scenes are the same their intentions could be anything but. Sora stabbed himself with the keyblade in order to free kairi’s heart from his own, giving up his existence in order to save the life of another. Whereas Xehanort does it in order to force his heart upon Terra, to sacrifice someone else's life to prolong his own

So here's a more in depth explanation of the Sleeping Worlds in DDD. Now at the beginning of the game it’s established that the sleeping worlds are worlds that fell to darkness during the events of KH1 but unlike the rest of the worlds they never returned to the realm of light after they were restored. And this is because their hearts were damaged upon falling to darkness, trapping them in sleep in order to recover. Now this is very interesting because it’s exactly what Happened to Ventus at the end of BBS, meaning that just like Ventus the sleeping Worlds are experiencing their own Birth By Sleep. This is actually a really clever piece of writing since it adds more thematic weight to Riku and Sora’s tests. For Riku the text is meant to be his final act of redemption with his restoring the worlds he helped make fall to darkness. Whereas with Sora this test is basically a trial run to see if Sora has what it takes to Save Ventus. Now back to lore and world building. It’s important to note that when Sora and Riku travel to the sleeping worlds they are not actually making a physical visit to the world itself but instead entering the dreams of worlds, with said Dreams being based on past events that have already occurred in the worlds. This is How Sora and Riku can meet Pinochio and Geppetto in Prankster’s paradise despite the end of Kh1 showing them still living in Traverse Town, because these are not the real versions of pinocchio and Gepeto but instead dream based off the World’s memories of them. To provide a comparison the Dream world is basically the same thing as the data worlds from K2 and Re:Coded but with your dreams instead of computer data. The One major exception to this rule being Traverse Town which isn’t a world that ever fell to darkness. You see, Traverse Town is a special world that only comes into existence when people need it. In KH1 it appeared to the refugees who lost their homes providing them sanctuary in their hour of despair. And now In DDD the dream version of Traverse Town appeared In Response to Joshua’s need to safeguard his friend’s existence. This means that all the TWEWY characters in DDD are the real deal rather than dream copies. Traverse Town also looks different in DDD thanks to the influence of the TWEWY character’s dreams.

I played Mario 3d land as a wee little boy on the new 3ds and all the references to all the older ips from the nes were really nice and added some nostalgia to probably a lot of older fans of the series, so I’d like to say, this movie was amazing to watch.

I am guessing you already know by now, but Nomura cooked with this game name, it literally is Kingdom Hearts 3D for the 3Ds, since DDD, 3D, stands for Dream Drop Distance

I’m new here, but as a World of Goo fan the later chapters are PHENOMENAL that’s all I’m going to say though. Like it somehow blew every expectation I had from the first game and that’s already considering these first two chapters are really good. I shouldn’t be surprised though cause this is made by Tomorrow Corporation.

FNaF fanatic here about 1 and a half years late to when this stream happened. This ended up being a lot longer than I thought it'd be. Foxy is active on Night 1 and can attack as punishment for idling in the office. His AI does start at 0, but everyone excluding Freddy has a difficulty increase by one point at 2 and again at 3 AM (and Bonnie has an extra at 4AM) every night, so he can attack starting from 2AM. He's not meant to be seen by players until Night 2, but he's there for those who decide not to play the game on Night 1 and is otherwise so inactive that he won't show up if you do interact with the cameras as intended. And oh are the small snippets of lore discussed here woefully outdated and misinformed. This is FNaF theorizing though so I can't blame anything being mistakenly taken as a fact when it's just speculation. The kids possessing Foxy and Golden Freddy are named Fritz and Cassidy, that is correct. "Evan" (a fan given name, not official) on the other hand is still highly debatable. Based on what we've learned about possession from a later book series named Fazbear Frights that's separate from the novel trilogy and is actually tied to the game's timeline. It expands on how things work in the world of FNaF and makes the Bite Victim's chances of possessing Golden Freddy lean on the unlikely side. As for Elizabeth, that whole robot thing is a plot point from the novel trilogy which exists in its own timeline separate from the games. Her being a robot and several characters in the modern lore is just very wacky speculation that thankfully turned out to be a false prediction. She isn't even the robots, that's Charlie, the daughter of Henry. He's the co-founder of Freddy's, creator of the original animatronics and William's friend prior to William going on to commit horrible actions repeatedly. He made the robots in a desperate attempt to bring his daughter back to life after William killed her. William stole the eldest model after Henry abandoned everything in an attempt to perfect Henry's unfinished work of a machine indistinguishable from a human, even being able to grow a spirit of its own. She has abandonment issues following her father's absence and is miserable, killing William's own daughter due to her own rage, with Elizabeth going on to possess and fuse with the robot's own soul. This is all exclusive to the novel trilogy though, as Baby, the robot she possesses, is just a standard animatronic that simply did its intended programming set by William with Elizabeth ending up in the wrong place at the wrong time. I'm not sure I even want to get started on "William Afton" in Security Breach as it's a heated topic, but I will anyway. In the following book series named Tales from the Pizzaplex which is also tied to the games revealed this to actually be a robot called the Mimic, who is copying William's likeness, as the real William died for good in the prior book series Fazbear Frights. The Mimic was made by a Fazbear engineer named Edwin to watch over and take care of his son David while he was busy in endless amounts of work he was tasked with. It was created to learn and adapt on its own, hence the name, so that it could optimize any task provided to it. Since it was always around David it began to act more like him and basically became like a child itself in terms of behavior. The Mimic and David became very close friends and spent a lot of time together while Edwin was busy with his work. One day however, David managed to get outside while chasing after a ball and fell victim to a car accident. Edwin in an extreme state of grief was approached by the Mimic. It still acted just like David would, and the sight of it acting like the son he had just lost filled him with rage and proceeded to beat the Mimic very aggressively. In that moment the Mimic was basically a now traumatized child who had been taught violence and was now filled with all these negative emotions poured into it through Edwin's actions. It would go on to kill several teams sent by Fazbear Entertainment to retrieve it following Edwin going missing until finally being deactivated and put into storage for decades. It was reawakened all those decades later when its programming was used to speed up the development of Help Wanted, the VR game, by taking any archived information and translating it accurately into the game at a rate faster than any developer could try to implement the same features. With the Mimic's negative drive and newfound fixating on that which is horrible, it focused its attention on all of the information it was being given for the game about William and took on his likeness, becoming Glitchtrap, later infecting Vanessa's mind and turning her into Vanny, taking over the Pizzaplex's systems, and finally being reimplemented into a physical body in the form of Burntrap, the "William Afton" seen in Security Breach. Following all of the Mimic's newfound power slowly falling apart due to the events of Security Breach and the Pizzaplex's destruction, it shed the persona and Springtrap costume it had been wearing that it now saw as useless and appears in its original endoskeleton form in the Ruin DLC, and will continue to be the series' current main antagonist for the foreseeable future as it seeks for a new means of causing the same pain, agony, and despair that had been forced onto it all those years ago.

Terra bequeathing Riku the Keyblade is one of my favorite scenes in KH mainly for how it recontextualizes Riku’s character in KH1. In Kingdom Hearts 1 Riku’s feelings towards Sora and the Keyblade are largely framed around a childish sense of jealousy and while that works for KH1’s story it becomes even better once you add in the new context of BBS. In BBS it is revealed that the Keyblade originally belonged to Riku because it was given to him by Terra who chose Riku to be his successor thanks to their hearts sharing the same ideals, that strength should be used to protect what matters. In this one Moment Riku met a kindred spirit and formed a bond unlike any other, a bond that was his and his alone. And the keyblade itself was a representation of that bond. So why, WHY does Sora have the Keyblade in KH1? Sora never met Terra, never shared that moment, and never touched his heart. So in Riku’s eye’s Sora is nothing more than a thief. To Riku this isn’t just about jealousy, this is about a friend betraying him and desecrating a precious memory. But that in turn is the irony of this whole situation. Sora was not the one that betrayed Riku but rather Riku betrayed himself. When Terra bequeathed Riku the keyblade it was because of their shared desire to protect their friends, the very chains of their bond formed by these beliefs. And yet as Riku grew older he forgot these ideals, forgot the meaning behind his promise with Terra, and in the end chose Power over his friends. He gave into the darkness and allowed it to destroy his home all in the hope of bringing forth his wish to leave Destiny Islands. Sora never stole the Keyblade from Riku but instead He lost the Keyblade because he was no longer the same boy that had become Terra’s friend.
