We shoot video for fun and to document our travels and lifestyle. We hope to keep this channel as a sort of journel of the journey up and down the road.
Following T. E. Lawrence, AKA Lawrence of Arabia in Dorset
In this video we travel to some historic places in TE Lawrence's life.
TE Lawrence led a very interesting life. Without going into it in this description IYKYK. We saw a hotel cafe in Wareham where he hung out and did some of his writing. Just down the street is the 11th century St Martin's church that has his effigy. We visited his grave and paid our respects. We toured Clouds Hill a small cottage in Dorset where he lived just before he was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident just about 1/2 mile away. Later while leaving the area we had a great encounter at a cider mill in the Dorset countryside. Dorset is world renowned for cider and we found the best one! Here's a link to their w...

Emerald Park Fun Pub and a Pizza truck
Просмотров 1042 месяца назад
WE visited Emerald Park We had a nice day out and rode some world class coasters. The weather was a little wet but it was still fun. Their grounds include a nice little zoo. This park used to be Tayto park the maker of Tayto chips. The food on offer was typical theme park. It was nice to mingle with real Irish folks. We then went to Swans Pub and had Bob's Pizza from their truck parked in back ...

Up North in Northern Ireland

We arrive in Northern Ireland and spend a little time in Derry. We did see some interesting things. Derry is a very old town with lots of history. ALL of it on display! We saw some "Derry Girls" film spots and had a cream horm just over by Pump Street! Visiting Derry gave us a good feel for Ireland as a whole and we look forward to seeing much more!
Islay Island of Whiskey
Просмотров 2332 месяца назад
We take a three day tour of Islay in Scotland. LOTS of distilleries on the island and beautiful scenery! Roads are narrow but people are VERY nice. Courtesy on the roads is common as is the "Islay wave" EVERBODY waves! We had a great visit and learned about Single malt. Being an Island, it's pretty expensive but worth it for the experience.
To Ferry and To Ferry or Not?
Просмотров 2493 месяца назад
We head to the ferry to Islay. The boats in Scotland have been having a couple problems lately so we are not sure if we are getting to Islay or not! Construction and delays due to mechanical problems gave us doubts.

Exploring the Great Outdoors: Mark and Beth's Exciting Woodland Hike
Great question! It means pedestrians.
what does it mean when the lines in roads is squigily
What system did you use and front mount? I’m still leaning towards a Ridgeline and most companies sites aren’t listing for newer Ridgelines. I see a lot of systems on marketplace for sale, and have no problem buying that way, but, want to make sure the mount is available. Thanks again
I used a highly modified Roadmaster mounting. It was a salvage from a Smart car. Lots of welding and bolstering. Definitely not a bolt on but doable.
@ I had a feeling this is what I would be doing also. I’ll probably find a nice complete kit on FB Marketplace and then modify the mounts for the Toad. Appreciate you replying. I’ll try to update you when it’s complete.
@godsmizzack best of luck. A bit of advice, make sure you don't "pull" from a place designed to "crumple" and try to attach to two points on each side and you should be fine. I'm not an engineer so...
Ya gotta tell me what you told the “ young man” about his lunch!
the audio got messed up I said basically that the grease and dirt added flavor!!
I enjoyed this, very relaxing and fun.
Thanks for watching, and the feedback!
We don’t say More-AN, we say MORE-an. In any name the emphasis is usually on the first syllable unless there may be a fada (accent) above a vowel in the second syllable eg Siobhán (Shiv-AUN) or Ciarán (Keer-AUN).
Thanks for watching and taking the time to explain. We have been struggling to get that right. We know a Moran at home. Totally different pronunciation! And the explanation about the fada is extremely helpful.😊
Stroop is Dutch for syrup and waffel is a thin sweet dough. In your journey have you had them warm? Lekker!!!!
@@janesloger5826 Yes we did! delightful indeed.
wpw I fear I would be road sick probably using the Mother thing slow down!
@@charleneschramm The camera makes it look faster!
Thanks for the tours! If I drink a beer, it’s a Guinness. That Shepard pie looked interesting. 🍻
The pie was really tasty. It was a lovely day for a Guinness.
This brought back some nice memories
Glad you enjoyed it. It was a bit nostalgic for us too.
Still going strong! :)
@@HARROINEUROPE Yea we are! Really having an epic trip!
No it’s not up North in lreland it’s up north in Northern Ireland facts facts facts
That should have been how we worded it!
@@cliffordbell646 Excellent suggestion! I just changed the title. Thanks, I got stuck in the box and couldn't think my way out of it!!!
Roller coasters and pizza … sounds good to me! 🎢 🍕 🍀
It was a pretty good day Not to mention Dole whip!
That lady is correct. Turf is indeed dried, compressed Peat and used as fuel. Sadly the E.U.s Zero Carbon policy now bans the production and sale of turf.
Times are always changing. Thanks for watching and for your comments. Good to learn the subtle differences.
1.6 kilometers is a mile so it is 1.25 miles . Just sayin'
Metric is just so.... unimaginative . Mr Spock is a big fan! It's not logical to use Miles but it's what we do. We are at least getting used to it and kinda understand it.
2000 meters are 2 kilometers and not miles ...
Still working on that conversion thing😂
Very cool
@@TBHTV Thanks for watching Glad you thought it was cool. I certainly did
sounds like alot of rain your right about GG Grandma and yes were also from Austria as well.
People here say about the rain that it's been a rough patch. Good to know we are going in the right direction with Great Great Grandma We just need to tie Great Grandma to Great Great Grandma and we have the right spot in Ireland
Welcome to Ireland, enjoy your stay.
Thanks for watching and the kind words. We love Ireland!
Thanks for the help. I’m looking at 24-25 Ridgeline and I’m not finding very many flat tow vids for it. I’m also a Floridian.
@@godsmizzack Your welcome if you have any questions put them here and we will try to help out. We almost always towed the pilot at around 65mph and stopped about every 2-3 hrs and ran it through the gears. That helped keep the battery charged as well. Good luck with the Ridgeline. Best practice is to always follow the manufacturer recommendation on flat towing. If it's a variable speed trans I would really take a hard look at the specs
Get your facts correct its not north of ireland .Its NORTHERN IRELAND Uk.
Thanks for the correction. I was in the North of Ireland to be fair was I not? I understand Northern Ireland UK and Republic of Ireland to be two different places. That's why we travel to learn things! Again thank you for the correction.
@@upanddowntheroad It's not fair comment to say north of ireland it gives people the impression one country or maybe you have an hidden agenda?.
@@brendandair1674 Definitely have hidden agenda never used the proper name LONDONDERRY and called PROTESTANT marching bands Disneyland.
Nope No hidden agenda 😂 I understand there are two different places! No offence intended. We have enjoyed the hospitality of the entire Island! Learning the history of a place is what makes travel interesting. Thanks again for watching our little adventure.
We changed the title to this video. I didn't know RUclips would let you do that!
beautiful landscape and beach
A wee bit cold! Definitely not Florida! Really pretty though
Disneyworld.😂😂 Yes go see the REAL IRELAND
Stay tuned! Ireland is a big country!
sounds like Automatic elevator!

Next time we go on a couple distillery tours
Just a little video about getting to The Island of Islay in Scotland Enjoyed the boat for sure. Has anybody ever got stuck on Islay?
The royals really do live like royalty. The amount of "pubs" on the Britannia was surprising.
Tis one had an unexpected surprise of the James Harriet house Author of one of my favorite book series and TV show All creatures Great and Small.
This is where you can ask questions or make suggestions and comments Thx!
how nice is that !
@@BOBA247 Glad you think so!

I would love to It will be a couple weeks as we are that far behind. Don't want to reveal too much but Norway was a couple countries and few ferries ago!
We had a great time here. I cut LOADS of video out to keep it moving! If you ever get a chance to travel to Norway go see this place.
Thanks for the wonderful tour! 🍓 Must be extra special with your daughter aboard! ✌🏼& ❤
It was a treat to have Shannon with us. Really glad you enjoyed it.
do you know the differance between a cematary and a graveyard. A graveyard has a church on property.
I did not know that! I always thought of a graveyard 🪦 as a "Churchyard" and a cemetery as a graveyard. Then there's a memorial park too!! Learned something today Thanks
Schon stadt
It's a great place!
Any time!
thanks for the ride
Any time!
Not even 1 Saab?
LOL There were a couple. Lot's of Mercedes-Benz and a whole bunch of Tesla's
Thank you for producing, editing and uploading footage about this important piece of history. It hands in a view into what is there to see, more or less also from a visiting standpoint. And leaves enough so it is worthwhile to visit. It helps with visualizing what Nazi Germany's scientist's Wunder Waffen where and the enormous scale of the testing and production facilities. How narrow of a time it became in order for the allies to win this bloody deadly conflict. Turned into an educational maintained museum, makes it great insights and an interesting public place to visit. Thanks!
Thanks for watching. There certainly is much more to see here. The enormous scale of the sight reflects the equally enormous importance of remembering all of the events of the second world war. It was really hard to edit this down to a usable video! I hope we got the message of preservation and remembrance that the museum most certainly does.
Was that the V8 Rocket ? And is the a replica of the train car germany surrendered in ww1. ? Hitler stole it brought it back to germany as a trophy then after France got it back. So that has to be a replica of the surrender train car. ?
Hi thanks for watching! I'm pretty sure that's an A4 rocket. The train car was used to transport people and goods to Pennemunde. The train car you are referencing is the famous Compiègne Wagon. Both the armistice and documents of surrender for the second world war were signed in that car. I think it is one display somewhere in France. Good Eye on the train at Pennemunde it was basically just a shell with some displays related to its use as transport.
@@upanddowntheroad I've studied ww2 history since I was 5 for some reason I was crazy about watching WW2 documentaries about germany 🇩🇪
It's good to study history! The more you know about people and events of the past lead to the more understanding and compassion in the present. The old, "those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it" Definitely is true.
@@upanddowntheroad I hope someday to write about what really happened in germany in ww2. I learned it first hand in America I'm a American but I knew a man who was drafted into hitler youth at age 11 he told me about what really going on in germany from a german view point. R.I.P Hans. 🌹
Thanks for taking us along!
thanks for the tour
