The Newport Project is a spinoff of The Newports, our 9-piece blues/rock/soul band that performed in southwest Michigan, northwest Indiana, and the greater Chicago area from 2014 through 2022. The Newport Praire Project was launched in 2022 by Newports’ founder Bill Bielby, along with bandmates Jumpin' Gene Halton, and Jeff Sachs. You'll find us, with special guest artists, popping up at venues in the area, performing blues, alt-country, and heartland rock.

Tim Sullivan's original, "Dance with the Dead," featuring: Tim Johnson on guitar; Rusty Hardwater, drums; Danny Dine, guitar; Tim Johnson, guitar; Jumpin' Gene Halton, harmonica; Bill Bielby, bass. The song was originally titled "Dance with Me On The Day of the Dead," a tribute to the Dia de los Muertos holiday.
