Preparation Overland
США
Добавлен 19 авг 2006
I am slowly getting my Gladiator prepared for some overlanding. After getting many questions on how, why and where I have done things to the truck, I thought I should start sharing what I have learned. I am not sponsored by any one or company just my own pocket. On Sept. 1 we will begin our first big trip. The plan is 2 months to Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. Currently we have 2 more Jeep Gladiators going on our adventure.

WoW! Longest Tunnel in N.A.

Today we drove through the longest tunnel in North America. We were going from Portage Glacier to Whittier Alaska. It is a single lane that facitates wheeled vehicles and trains. The tunnel is 2.5 miles long and takes about 6.5 minutes. My video runs a bit longer since I drive slow. The signs indicate that the speed limit is 25mph (I was doing about 23mph) It looked to be perfectly straight. Lo...

this little trick gives you a lot more viewing through the windshield in a JT or JL. It might work with a JK but i don't know. If it works with a JK as well let me know in the comments.

Imogene Pass (Sketchy)

This is our crossing of Imogene Pass. We really enjoyed the trip, but 3 days afterwards we learned about a Gladiator that went over the edge and three souls lost their lives. We decided that it will be awhile before we attempt another mountain pass. If I had been smarter I would have done some exploring up around Johnboy Mine. We could have found a nice secluded area and spent the night up ther...
WeBoost 5g Cellular Booster

This is my second installation of the WeBoost system on my Gladiator. I am a lot happier with the install and the signal I receive through it. When the antenna is up it is over 9' high and most drive-thru's have a limit of 9' or less. So around town I keep it off and in the down position. Just as curious fact it still boost the signal when folded down just not as much boost. WeBoost $500 a.co/d...

We were fortunate that as we came up the the water crossing. There were a group of enduro motorcycles waiting to cross. (I think they were watching to see how deep it was.) Anyhow I saw their posting a common group and one of them sent me this video.
Watching your Weboost video, still running Weboost yourself?
This was very helpful! Any chance you can post a video demonstrating how you tested the step-up? I am trying to determine if my step up is faulty.
Please make a video on three button operations. On the unit.
Worked for my heater on the first try. Thanks for the info!
I just want to make it easy for anyone who want to find the entrance to the tunnel. Here is the Lat. Lon - 36.06721, -84.65259. Have fun just before entering the tunnel blow your horn several times. If you don’t get a reply….proceed are your own risk. As you can see in this video I didn’t blow my horn. I wish I had.
so..you sure you went the right way......did you see the no enter sign behind the bush?? just messing with ya, have fun!!!
