Fala Lucas! Tenho uma guitarra igual e queria fazer os splits, mas visto que meus caps são os com 2 fios de fábrica, saberia me dizer, ou teria alguma imagem de como estão soldados os 4 fios nos polos dos seus Wide Range? Só preciso tirar essa dúvida pra conseguir fazer o Jimmy Page Wiring. Valeu!
Interesting video! This may be pie in the sky but I'd like ... Coil tapping as in this demo and a strat (single coil) pickup in the middle to get the Sultans of swing / strat quack sound. Ideally an additional A/B switch. A - 5 position switch like a strat all single coil. B - Humbuckers kicking in with a similar 5 positions except middle position selecting the 2 outside pickups as on a tele. I have a slimline tele and a strat - both in one guitar, with the sustain of a semi-hollow, would be amazing with 22 frets and a tremolo arm. Not asking for much, am I 😅

On most 'octave up" pedals the octave effect mostly works towards the 12th fret and beyond and using the neck pickup. It hardly responds on the bridge pickup. Hope this helps.

Sounds better than most of the $200+ “boutique” Fuzz Face and OctoFuzz clones I’ve been looking at…for a fraction of the admission price. I think you just sold another one for them.
With this kind of pedals the octave sound sound better on the neck pickup and 12 freeet. Great video, greetings from Mexico

@@graeme4074 I used it on the 2th position, with the boost engaged. The knobs are set the way you see on the video.

Porra, tenho uma Telecaster 72 deluxe igual a sua. Quando levei a guitarra num luthier pra fazer split ele falou que não era possível fazer. Você é de São Paulo? Onde você fez as modificações?
Perdão pela demora. Sou do ES, cara. Não sei todas as Teles são iguais nesse sentido. Mas vale levar em outro luthier. Depende de quantos fios condutes tem seus captadores.

Fala, Lucas. Tudo bem? Cara, tenho essa mesma guitarra e estou pensando em fazer o split também. Mas tenho algumas dúvidas: 1) Esses wide range humbuckers são os que vem com a guitarra de fábrica? Eles têm 4 fios cada um? 2) Você botou pots de 500k em todos os potenciômetros? Tones também ou só nos de volume? 3)Quais partes dos humbuckers você escolheu pra funcionar com o split, os mais próximos do braço ou da ponte? 4) Minha guitarra não tem queda de volume quando eu boto na posição do meio (dois hbs juntos). A sua tem? Tem mais agora que splitou? Te agradeço demais se puder responder. Estou prestes a comprar os pots e levar no meu luthier mas gostaria de esclarecer essas questões antes de levar. Muito obrigado. Valeu!
Fala Patrick! Vamos às respostas: 1) Sim, são os captadores de fábrica. 2) Coloquei os 4 potenciômetros de 500k, nos volumes e tones. 3) Em ambos, usei as bobinas de fora. 4) Não tenho quedas de volume na posição do meio também. Só há uma perda de saída, quando os dois captatores são ligados juntos, que é natural em qualquer guitarra. Espero que eu tenha elucidado. A guitarra fica maravilhosa com essas modificações. Super versátil.

Do that! I done on a SG and the sound is simply awesome. You can see clearly the difference , but better than that, you can choose the better option for each effect (distortion, fuzz, amp, echo, etc)

Hi Marco. Remove the caps described on the video (which I don’t remember anymore 😅), reverse them, than you have a better octave fuzz sound. Never did It, cause I like the way it sounds, but I know the mod improves it on the Joyo version, which has the same circuit.

Yeah, joyo Voodoo Octaver Is the same. The Octaver dosen't work well because It needs to be modded through a swap of two caps.

The Kokko is a tube screamer clone and the Nobel is other kind of overdrive, that impression the nobels give me
Mano, li em outro comentário vc comparando ele com outros pedais, incluindo o Fulltone Octafuzz. Não sei em relação a comparação, mas no som que vc tirou é exagero dizer "no octave at all". O som me parece o de um octafuzz com o controle de fuzz na metade, como vc tocou. E o octafuzz fica mais pronunciado com o controle de fuzz zerado, e com captação do braço com o controle de tom zerado.
Cara, o voicing dele muda e muito no modo octave e eu curto muito. Só que, de fato, ele não se porta feito os octafuzzes que estamos acostumados. Eu sou muito fã do Hendrix e mesmo, com uma strato, usando essa s configurações que vc disse ai, aquele som não vem. Pra mim, mesmo assim, não prejuízo para o pedal. Eu adoro ele como ele é!

Sim. O nobels tem um clipping mais agradável, menos resposta de EQ. Eu trouxe dos EUA na época.

Man, good point! But the delay is engaged on turned off on 01:40 and reverb is not that wet enought to compromise the sound of the pedal. Come on.
When you wired both the bridge and neck pickup to the push-pull pot, did you you just double them up? Most tutorials only show wiring a a push-pull pot for each Humbucker Pickup individually. Like for a Les Paul with 2 volume pots. I have a SG with one volume pot for both humbuckers similar to yours.
I did the Jimmy Page Wiring. Each volume knob splits it's respective pickup coils, and the tone knobs switches it to series/parallel and out-of-phase modes. So, I believe the mod I made is the same that you see on most videos on you. But, I believe any option is possible if you can do the job or have a good luthier/guitar tech to do it for you ( which is my case).
