We decided to make this channel because we're way pumped about our BRAND NEW Ford Bronco! We aren't professional 4x4 people and have really no idea what in the heck we're doing. We'll be learning as we go, and thought maybe you'd like to join us. We definitely want to stress that we *really* don't know what we're doing, so don't take us as a place for off-roading advice. We're dumb, so don't try this at home. Just enjoy our misadventures.
We're located on Colorado's Western Slope, so a lot of our misadventures will be West of the Continental Divide because the West Slope is the Best Slope.

BRONCOS! Our first trail with FELLOW BRONCOS! Blair Mountain, Colorado
We hooked up with two local Broncos to hit Blair Mountain in the Flat Tops Wilderness! It was a super fun time, and we even managed an obstacle I didn't think we could make with a little guidance from Jay and Jeremy.

We decided to celebrate the one year anniversary of picking up our Bronco by going bigger than we've ever gone on Poughkeepsie Gulch! We did a trip with an old family friend through some easy, but fun trails near Ouray, CO. Jeff's Jeep led us through Corkscrew Gulch, Hurricane Pass, and California Gulch. Jeff's done all these trails numerous times, so he knows them very well. @@BestSlopeBronco Cool, thanks! We just took the plunge on a used Badlands 2Dr with MT. We had an order on a new Bronco exactly like yours, but couldn't resist the one we found at a lower price with low miles and more trail features(and 4A for DDing in the winter). We're a bit older than you two, but we figured we should do it now, or start looking for an appropriate assisted living, LOL!! Cheers from the other side of the continent!
@@dongarnier5890 If I had it to do over again, I'd probably have ordered a Badlands for those reasons. But this lil' guy is doing great!
I would say that some more ground clearance here would have helped. With 35's and a front locker I think you would have walked right up this.
@@joerghallbauer6595 Yep, absolutely. It's been fun seeing what this thing can do as is, with no lift and the 32s, but I think I'm ready for a little upgrade! Although I really feel like I was close here without it. It's all snowed up now, but I'm going to get after it again next summer! Thanks, Joe!
@@BestSlopeBronco Absolutely! What are you think about in terms of mods? There's a lot of Sasquatch take-offs floating around.
@@joerghallbauer6595 Nothing too complex. Just 35s and Ford's severe duty steering rack. That's all that's in the budget at the moment! 😂 But I never wanted to get real crazy with it, as I still want something that's reasonable to get along on the highway with.
Front locker on the first obstacle, if you do not have one yet get one. You could of made it up with a bump most likely. Watch more offraod videos to understand which lines to take when off reading. Enjoy that 2 door, love the bronco in this configuration.
I felt like I was really close as is, but yeah, would have really loved the front locker here!
But buddy doesen realized the reliability differences between the two. I am not a molar or a ford fan but I can tell you ford motors are junk. I work on them all day long.
I mean, I've never had a problem. 🤷🏻♂️

Like y'all and others feel, I think any trail that an average automobile with sufficient ground clearance can traverse should not be considered a "badge of honor" trail. I did this road a few years ago when I noticed a very stock-looking Subaru Outback heading up the road ahead of me. They never had to turn back and my 2wd van made it with no issue. It certainly is an enjoyable ride, though. Glad you guys had fun on it!

To me, what's even funnier that this is even rated as a Jeep BOH Trail, is that they rated the difficulty as 3-4! This is a 2, at best, and that's from someone who's only real "off-roading" experience is forest service roads that get slightly bumpier than this.

Uphill has right of way in CO it’s so you don’t lose momentum. You should also use common sense too, if uphill traffic has a safe spot to pull over then they can/should.
Yeah, that's what I thought. Thanks for the confirmation. I generally just pull out and give others the right of way anyway.
Badge of Honor? That's a gravel trail over the mountain that avoids having to drive all the way north or south around. That area has some trails that allow access to some great scenery, but none that would qualify for a Badge of Honor in my never humble opinion.
Not even Poughkeepsie Gulch or Black Bear Pass? I agree on Ophir, but that's what the Jeep folks call a Badge of Honor Trail. 🤷🏻♂️
@@BestSlopeBronco Yeah, all on Jeep, not you. Maybe Poughkeepsie Gulch. Black Bear has a rep, but it's really nothing more than a series of S turns that scares folks. But so does US 550 and semi's drive it every day. Cliff Hanger in Moab is what I would call a serious Badge of Honor.

Bahahaha I had a simular pucker moment with my BD last week with all my camping stuff on,I learned back in my quadding days to walk out an waterhole before crossing (chest deep in freezing water sucked)
I had a sense of how deep this one was because I'd seen it bone dry about a month before. The water, unfortunately, really obscures the ruts, so taking the right lines was a challenge, and I slid in. But yeah, definitely have to scout out these things before you get into them - probably need to find a stick to test depth.
