    This video is amazing and providing information I have never heard before!! So would leave in conditioner be considered a styling aid? It sounds like you only add gels to your hair after you rinse the deep conditioner out.

    Wow, yes! I would love to try this method for my clients. I too have made it a point to create small enough sectioning so that I do NOT have to go back an uncoil or separate the coils after drying. That be be another whole service "coil out." However, I never thought to use a tool. Great idea! Thank you for sharing.

    Have you tried an oil combination, primarily olive oil My daughter calls it a potion 😅🤣 But I sweat by it now mixing all the oils with olive oil & water, so myrr, jojoba, grapeseed, castor, vitamin e, ect. I literally put some demi mini braids halfway down and my ends are completely fortified from the mixture🥰

    My hair is very light weight it feels as if I have no hair so I don’t know what to do about that.

    • @Thephairmacist

      I recommend getting a protein treatment. It will make your hair feel fuller. You should only get them every 6 to 8 weeks making sure you hydrate in between, but not too much hydration. It will make your hair feel soft and limp. Also try volumizing, shampoos and conditioners. This is my best general advice without seeing your hair.

    I have kinky hair my hair draws up so tight it’s like I don’t have any length at all and I hate that but I won’t say it’s 4C but it is very kinky. The problem now is we have all these people on RUclips talking about hair types and how to care for it and this only confuses us more and makes it very hard to believe anything that’s said. I think the smartest advice is to go back to basics and get a good regular regimen.

    • @Thephairmacist
      @Thephairmacist 3 месяца назад

      I understand what you’re saying about being overwhelmed with so much information. Please know that I have been doing this for over 15 years and have done the research. Specialize in tight curls, specifically 4C. The basics we know in love are not always the best route. Such as greasing her scalps and loading our hair down with oil. To Keep it very basic. I can say this shampoos your hair weekly, gets a trim quarterly, and gets a protein treatment every 6-8 weeks. Find a style that is easy for you to do and maintain with a minimum manipulation and when you manipulate your hair, be very gentle and kind to it.

    You should change the title. I’m type 4 and I’m low porosity. There are 3 types of type 4 hair, but I’m not a licensed cosmetologist 🤷🏾‍♀️Also I wonder who did these studies. Also why do some hair of black people float to the bottom of the water. Also I can’t agree with not needing oils sense heat is not enough to hydrate my hair, I have to use oil. And hair does hold moisture if u know what you’re doing, u have to use heat. People please oil and seal your hair before it brakes. Leave in conditioners are important while the hair is wet for dry hair. Also be careful w/ protein. I put leave-in on my hair before jail so my hair stays soft, then I add oil to seal and my hair stays soft and moisturized without that heavy look.

      Thank you so much for your comment. I will take it into consideration your suggestion to change the title. Yes there are different types of type 4 hair. These studies were done by organizations all over the world. It took me many weeks to research this information. I’ve also been a stylist for over 15 years. Specialize in type 4 hair. I completely encourage individuals to find what works for them. It’s good to know you have. However, the information I share is more general. In the salon, I customize my recommendations for my clients. The information not just based on my research but also my experience. Thank you for sharing your comment. I hope you have a blessed day.

    Why do you spread false information, over complicating our hair? My hair is high porosity, coily, and medium density. I use two products in my hair: water and gel. Either Kinky-curly custard or Curls blueberry bliss jelly. I wash my hair weekly, mist my hair with water every morning, and it stays hydrated, coily, soft, and healthy. Air dry only, there’s no need for a blow dryer. My hair never looks dry. Our hair isn’t complicated at all, it’s people who overcomplicate it saying you need to you use 50 different products which isn’t necessary at all.

      The information I provided was highly researched. It was meant for those who want to understand the intricacies of their hair, not to make anything complicated. I am glad that you have been able to find what works for you. I appreciate you watching my video and for your comment. Others have found it very helpful, I hope you have a blessed day. Also, I have been a stylist for almost 2 decades, and this information comes with my experience as well.

    I decided to try this because I had ordered the Honey Almond Shampoo & Conditioner, the Organic Styling Gel & the Mizani Perfect Coil Oil Gel from your Amazon. I already had a 3 row comb. I did everything you explained in this tutorial. Practice makes perfect with how you explained how to comb product through with the comb but I think I did pretty good. I like the product & how my hair looks. I will just need to make sure my hair is completely dry before I tie it up for bed.. Thank you so much❤❤

    Honestly this doesn’t make sense . Some black people have hair that the water beads up on when wet and others soak up the water. Some of us have high porosity and some of us have low porosity hair. If this information were true peoples hair wouldn’t react to water differently after getting chemical relaxers. Whether the hair is clarified or not there are differences in porosity. And the creator of this video doesn’t even wear natural hair nor is it long and healthy… why are y’all listening to this information as if it’s of value smh

      Thank you for your comment. You are right at the time I didn’t have natural hair. However I have been working with tight curls for over 13 years as a licensed stylist and have done the research. I included the studies in the video and description. I am not sure if you have seen any of my other videos. I now have a natural taper and grew my hair out over the last two years using the methods I describe in the video. Thank you again for watching and for your comment.

      I think there are studies that have shown that Black hair tends to be porous. Two anecdotes: 1) I remember a big thread of women sharing their hair-analysis results. Many of these women swore they were low porosity, but for most, their analyses actually showed them to be high or normal porosity. I think most of these RUclipsrs who say they're low porosity fit this bill. I can think of one who says she's low porosity, yet her hair always dries as she styles; and another one who says he's high porosity, but his hair immediately soaks up water when he wets it. 2) I'm high porosity and water beads up on my hair. This was addressed in the video. Evidently, Black hair is hydrophobic.
