Knowing how Pete talked for years about Moons drumming its wonderful to hear this. Evidently he knew from the start that Keith was a genius and key to the bands sound. Makes one wonder what all the garbage from later come from. I normally hate speculating about what someone feels or thinks whithout knowing the person. Ill do it here anyway where no one seem to take notice. I think that he(Pete) never admitted to himself how much he missed Keith when he died. In fact he quite recently said he had realised that he loved Keith and regretted not having told him so(which K. in return had told P many times). Somehow this led to Pete belitteling Keith in various interviews over the years. SAD... Enough said

I was fortunate enough to see them in '73 in Los Angeles. It was the first time I dropped acid for a show and it was amazing! I peaked during this song. I also saw them in 1980. They could have been a cover band by then. I love the bootleg album cover art too.

Saw them in Chicago on this tour - my first time seeing them and I was floored. Easily the greatest live band ever. This is my favorite song on Quadrophenia and they nailed it. Moonie was insanely great as was The Ox. This concert was on the old King Biscuit Flower Hour and I reordered it off the radio - still have it of course

I wonder who owns the original master recording. Surely using today's tech, it can be cleaned up and given a full official release.

I love this version, it has it all. Sweet beginning, gets heavy, Roger sings, Moonie pounding away. And GD it...Entwistle's bass and he are boss. Best rock band ever for me.

What's unusual about this version is from "Where do you get those blue, blue jeans" it's Daltrey singing, and not Townshend. Makes for a very intersting dynamic. Overall this Philly show is excellent recording from the Quadrophenia tour.

This,, a bootleg???? In Sep/1971 I saw the Who at Rock @ The Oval. Pye sent their mobile recording studiio along and came up with crap.

I recorded this concert on a TDK cassette on Holloween night around 1982/83 and bought their LPs one after another until I owned them all. Needless to say, Sandinista was the first purchase and one of my top 10 LP of all time.

Wasn't this album recorded in Long Beach, CA? I might be mistaken. I own it on vinyl but no info on it.
