    I never know if this is true, but it seems much louder than other kidde alarms. Also, the pitches don't match up, and they are out of sync which makes it just sound like a bunch of people screaming

    • @NexTech7
      @NexTech7 19 часов назад

      Thanks for your comment! It’s possible that the alarm you're hearing is louder because different Kidde alarms can vary in sound intensity based on their model and design. The out-of-sync beeps and mismatched pitches could be due to how the alarms communicate or are wired. If they are interconnected, this might cause a slight delay in synchronization. I’d recommend checking the user manual or contacting Kidde support to see if it’s a common issue or if something might be wrong with the installation. Hope that helps!

    • @Reaktron88
      @Reaktron88 19 часов назад

      @@NexTech7 I think the messy pitches could be because they are not exactly speakers with computers that can be programmed to make a perfect pitch, and they are not designed nearly as precise as things like musical instruments. It also could be because the lower pitched one is further away. Almost all of them that I have heard by themselves are 3135hz, which is equivalent to G7 note. As for the non synchronized beeps, that is because the alarms are programmed to have a 3 second delay when being triggered, which the interconnection doesn't override. And of course even wired connections aren't perfect, especially in devices like these. I once noticed that alarms that are further away take slightly longer to trigger. In the UK however, they are wired differently and they do sync, at least thats what I think.

    I think that this smoke alarm should be banned due to it making it unsafe to escape the house. The people that will be using this alarm are likely hearing impaired people, who will often be older people, who also sometimes have a hard time going down the stairs. The bright light makes it impossible to have your eyes open without getting blinded. Yes, it's that bright. I originally thought it wasn't going to be that bad, but when it went off at night... I am not even going to explain how dangerous it would be if there was a real fire, it is already dangerous enough as it is. Anyways, making it impossible to have your eyes open, this makes it dangerous to go down the stairs, and of your older, it is especially dangerous. Even if you had your eyes open and were looking down, the bright light blinds your vision like a bright headlight, making it harder to see whats ahead of you. If you missed a step, not only could you fracture your bones, but if it was a real fire, you could be stuck in the building. Another way you could be stuck in the building is if you had a high risk of seizures. This is a nightmare to those people. If you had a seizure, it is dangerous for someone to touch you, and you would be stuck in the building. The reason why it is so bright is because it needs to wake up a completely deaf person. It is quite hard to wake someone up with light very quickly, so it needs to be extremely bright. Bright enough to cause permanent eye damage, to wake you up quickly. Despite this, it should still be toned down quite a bit. The light produced by this is 2224.25 lumens, which is bright enough to light a giant room very well. Strobing it is much more dangerous than just turning it on. I WOULD SUGGEST JUST TURNING IT ON! Not only is it sill well enough to wake you up quickly, it provides a safe bright light to help you escape. There are smoke alarms that do this, but the light is much less bright, for the blinding reason and to save power. There needs to be a safer way to do this, and people who aren't deaf (I'm particularly sensitive to sound) should be allowed to remove these and replace them with normal smoke alarms. We have already ordered the replacement smoke alarms, I kept a couple in some bedrooms in case we need them. The rest I am disabling permanently because they also seem to go off all the time. Anyone who reads this and has these alarms, replace them ASAP! I recommend hardwired, interconnected, with NORMAL battery backup.

    • @NexTech7
      @NexTech7 25 дней назад

      You make some valid points. I don’t like the bright flashing light because I’m sensitive to bright lights. You should consider the specific application and the potential negative effects on seizures.

      @@NexTech7 I think it shouldn't be installed in homes by default. I live in Ontario and I am pretty sure they are required because of the AODA where they implemented some changes to the safety sections in the building code. They are not required by law to have them, but to sell or rent a new home they need to have them. I am not sensitive to bright lights the way some people are, but for me it made it hard to go down the stairs. I have taken out a couple in locations that cause false alarms, and bought some bought P12040s. to replace these.

    Never thought I see pile of used fire extinguishers before when it comes to dumpster fires only use the fire extinguishers if the fire is small or if it is to big then only use it it has a chance of spreading to another building

    • @NexTech7
      @NexTech7 2 месяца назад

      You’re right about that. It is appropriate to use a fire extinguisher when: 1. The fire is small and contained, such as in a wastebasket. 2. You have been trained on how to use a fire extinguisher. 3. You have a clear escape route that is not blocked by the fire. 4. The fire is not producing heavy smoke or toxic fumes. 5. The type of fire extinguisher available is suitable for the type of fire (e.g., a Class A extinguisher for ordinary combustibles, a Class B extinguisher for flammable liquids, etc.). If any of these conditions are not met, it is safer to evacuate the area and call the fire department.
