The Epic Showdown: Peak Refuel Vs Mountain House-Which Biscuits and Gravy Reigns Supreme?
Thank you ! Finally someone shares a video with a queen mattress. Now I'm sold !
Thanks for watching. We love it..
I don't think they charge via just solar that well. needs to be plugged in to charge, even though it's "solar"... does anyone else have this issue? or is this just how they're made.
I usually charge before leaving and then solar gets me through the rest of my trip. Of course you need it to be quite sunny and keep rotating the unit to maximize sunlight.
This is supposed to be a four-season tent, and yet there is no port built into the tent for a wood stove smoke exhaust tube should you wish to use one. Any reason why not?
This tent isn't made for a stove unfortunately. I use a diesel heater with it when winter camping but is not a hot tent.
Hate people plastering their b.s over nature, you got all types coming thru here, keep guard!!
Nothing makes me more upset than seeing graffiti on trails. Second only to trash.
Did you notice a difference in brightness between the first led light and the last lights on the cord?
No the brightness was consistent across the whole strand. Thanks for wayching
Did you notice a difference in brightness between the first led light and the last lights on the cord?
The lights are consistent across the strand. Thanks for watching.
There are great big white sharks in that harbor. Avoid the shark infested SoCal beaches.
Not just there but all along SoCal. Thanks for watching!
Looking to buy. Will a queen and a double mattress fit inside?.
I would say no. A Queen by itself definitely, but adding the double might be too tight.
Pray you never have a problem with it.
So far so good.
Place looks awesome! Definitely looks calmer during the week
It was!
Bigger windows than the ShiftPod
That’s the big reason we love it!
I agree, these prices are outrageous for just a piece of nylon! They should definitely include them with the main tent purchase.
Absolutely!
Agreed!
Could you make a video when it's pouring rain? Thanks!
We shall try. Being in SoCal we don’t get rain very often, but when we get some storms I’ll try and get out there.
What are the measurements? The footprint? I have limited space, but eventually am thinking of bigger here. Best regards, Dante
I’m not sure, but I’ll try to find out.
11’8” at its widest. Same for depth
Is it possible to stake the tent down while it's sitting on the footprint?
You can stake out the guide lines but the footprint will block the holes from the tent itself. What I do is fold the foot print underneath we to clear the holes before staking it down. That’s my preference anyway to fold the footprint underneath to keep dirty off of it.
Looks amazing
Look- its *Mr. Delicious* from the old Rax restaurant commercials lol!
You took it out several time. Do you feel the need to stake it down? Its pretty head and all your gear inside.
The only time I staked it down was one trip when there were 30mph winds while setting up. I pulled them once everything was loaded inside. The tent stays put pretty good especially when loaded. Thanks for watching!
I've debated carrying one of those on my travels. But I try to make camp with im an area one I can hang my hammock and two has a log for a seat😅. That way I can carry more water/food and stay out longer. That looks like an awesome fishing chair for sure tho dude. Maybe not around saltwater tho😮. ✌️💚
Thanks for watching. The metal in it is aircraft grade aluminum so you should be good by the salt water.
Cool chair!

Is Wippro still a company.... or have they been bought out buy another???
Good question. I have no idea. Seems that all the brands are very similar knockoffs of German engineered heaters but I did like the Wipro for the quieter fuel pump.
In the sales world you never ever where sunglasses, it kills the sales.
Sorry but I have very sensitive eyes and can’t be outside without them.
AWESOME SHARE
I just bought the 20 foot version of this tent. Do you think it’s too big for campsites? I haven’t had a chance to use it yet. Also, has this tent given you any issues?
I definitely have to do Google earth measurements for certain sites. It takes more planning because the ropes extend quite a bit out. So this one take up about a 25’ circle. Making the wood posts allow you to shorten the distance to get it taught.
Beautiful
Thanks for the support!
Thank you too!
Thanks for the love!!!
Always!
Did you do any modifications to the Wippro heater? This model doesn’t come with Bluetooth app support right? Trying to decide between this exact model or a Bluetooth HCalory or Vevor. Prefer one that works reliably out of the box without any upgrades or modifications needed.
No I didn’t do any modifications to it. I had also looked at the others you mentioned but I went with this model due to the fuel pump being much quieter than the other two. Otherwise they all pretty much work the same. I don’t know if it has Bluetooth or not but I don’t really mess with the interface. I just you the remote when in the tent to control temps. Whichever you get, make sure you use the on off button and not just unplug it when shutting it down. I also run it on high for at least 15 mins before shutting down just to burn off any crud on the glow plug.
Is it waterproof? No reviewers or the company talk about the rainfall or show it on the tent. Viewers definitely want to know if a tent is waterproof. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Keep Smilin'
From what the company has told me, it is as close to water proof as any fabric can be. We haven’t had it out in any heavy rains yet, but was planning on doing a water test at home when I have some time this summer. I will definitely film it and do an update.
There is a weather package, I would suggest that's your water proof.
It is not water proof. The rain fly works but you don’t get any ventilation with it on. If you touch the side while it’s raining the water comes in just like any other tent I was in Taylor park Co in august, rained every day. You just have to be careful about letting anything touch the walls inside
I’m using my tent for the first time. Trying to put my fly on, it doesn’t fit like yours. If I attach each point to the pull handle, fly flaps around and it’s way way bigger than yours. each point on my fly goes halfway between the pull handle and the ground. I’m not sure if that makes sense but it’s like my fly is 1.5 times bigger than yours?? 😫
🤔 that’s strange. Reach out to Overlandish and see if they have an answer. They have always been really responsive and helpful when I have had questions and issue.
I agree with you. For the price, it should be included
A black tent?!! This thing must be a sauna. No thanks.
Actually stays fairly cool and keeps it nice and dark for anting to sleep in. It cooler than my backpacking tent, which is green. Ive compared them side by side to see how the heat compared. Thanks for watching
😮
Looks like an ice fishing popup, been using for years
That’s the basis for the design. Then they added different window configurations for better ventilation for camping. Same idea though
Very cool Steve. I've been looking into these for a while. I might have to pick one up before my Calico trip at the end of the month.
Loving ours. Thanks for watching! Calico is awesome btw
@@disconnectforadventure it's Aaron A btw. You're making some good content. Keep it up 💪🏽💯
@@Vissionary1 thanks buddy
Probably not too good in Australia with out heat. But inguess “fit for purpose is the key 👍
It has worked well in our Southern California heat. The airflow is fantastic but I would go for the silver reflective color for better heat reflection. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the follow-up review. Very helpful!
Our pleasure
I have the green version but haven’t had a chance to use it yet
I wish they had the green color out when I got mine. Looks sweet. You will love the tent.
Black is a no as it melts in the ice and boils you in the summer.
It’s been keeping us cooler in the summer than our other normal tents. They also have silver and green
Agreed!👍🏻
Isn’t there a vent on the outside to put the hose in and secure
No that is only on the newer version 2.1 of the tent. My version is v2. Thanks for watching!
Overlanding is for weak people who need to carry all their fat people comforts.
Good review, but I think I must have missed the "SHOCKING" part. Do you find that water gets under the tent from the oversized ground cloth?
Yes, just like any oversized ground cloth, water will get underneath. The bottom is waterproof so it doesn’t make a big difference, but I will fold the edges underneath to prevent the water from getting underneath
A couple of questions, Does the doors & windows and a mesh screen on them so you can leave it open to catch a breeze and keep bugs out? Also as someone who is 6'3, is there enough head room in this tent?
Yes every window has a screen and o keep the bugs out, but that can be removed also. So the windows are zipped closed. The nice unzipped it’s a clear plastic window that is attached with Velcro. You peel that off then there is a bug screen that can also be removed. At 6’3 you will not have any issues.
@@disconnectforadventure Thanks for the reply! Will have to look into getting one of these tents. Do you think the rainfly/weather pack is a must?
@@z14sniperzps43 I’d say having a ground foot print is essential. You could use a waterproof tarp or o keep the bottom of the tent getting filthy. I haven’t had it in any substantial downpours yet so I’m not sure if the rain fly is a necessity or not yet. Once summer rolls around I plan to drench it and do a good water test. Thanks for watching!
@@z14sniperzps43wait to get the weather pack as a new rainfly that is much larger is being developed by tent creator
Nice to hear that the ticking noise is quieter. Some are quite loud.
Do you guys run a heater? Looking at a v2 without heater ports and seeing if there is even a way for diesel heater to go in ? I’m assuming just the door
Yes we run a diesel heater. I just run it through one of the doors and zip around the hose
@@disconnectforadventure alright sounds good do you think the features on the v2.1 are worth it ? Asking because there is a new v2 on marketplace and seeing if it worth getting and saving or waiting. I don’t mind using the door like you said
@@delagto_5340the solo version of this tent i just ordered has two ports for heater, done very well
The Appalachian winds would play havoc with that high profile tent.
Tent has been tested to over 60mph when staked down well. The open desert winds are no joke.
I have personally had it at 50mph winds and it was fine. Better than any other type of tent I’ve tried.
Great video. Can’t wait to take mine to the outer banks in April!!
We love it. Thanks for watching and enjoy your trip coming up!
