Rusty Sheriff - Obelisk FULL ALBUM FILM
Released on 3/5/24 Rusty Sheriff drops a concept album about the narrative of the obelisk. Initially #obelisk grew out of a fruitful #jamuary at the start of 2024 using single takes to write ideas and structures that were later built upon.
The video clips themselves initailly were filmed from live jamuary sessions and additions later added once the obelisk theme was established.
The obelisk stories line the recording and you can seek those out, but huge thanks to the additional players, sample sources and video sources from archive.org
The album is available on CD, cassette and digital from:

ex-jungle - Rusty Sheriff FULL EP

This EP is a selection of sketches that were a nod to the old jungle tracks of old through the eyes of the likes of Techno Animal or Panacea. The domestic pet is increasingly pivotal in our family circles, and the posters reflect the desire to re-locate ...

    Good work and now we have another way to grok electronics.. For some unknown reason watching this video I thought of the 2007 Taiwanese movie about a sound engineer recording ambient sounds..so I'll mention it just in case someone finds some happiness in watching it. But NOT with English overdubs.. it will have to be in the original Mandarin soundtrack with English subtitles..:Here is the wiki: The Most Distant Course (Chinese: 最遙遠的距離) is a Taiwanese film written and directed by Taiwanese director Lin Jing-jie [zh], and was released in 2007. It has won the Critics' Week Award in Venice Film Festival in 2007, and was selected as the opening film for 2007 Taipei Film Festival. Synopsis Tang (Muo) goes on a trip to Taitung to record the sounds of nature, hoping the tape may save his relationship

    Can this be done from non- eurorack use? Just to trigger sounds on other devices. Also do you have to use an arduino?

    • @prrkindustriessoundenthusi2948
      @prrkindustriessoundenthusi2948 2 года назад

      The circuit isn’t my design, it belongs to Lomund Campbell and I cloned his idea that was Arduino based. In doing it that way you keep the signals clean. I suspect there could be a way of doing it with transistors but it seems a long way around the problem. You can trigger anything with this. Anything that has a gate/clock in. Doesn’t have to be eurorack

    I've been trying to build the electrosluch for a while now. I am not very happy with the sound. Very noisey. I am also casing it up and will take it outside to check results. My teacher once build a very simular device. But he used multiple stages in the amplification to keep the noiselevel low. What kind of case where you using by the way? It looks like a casting. Cheers!

    • @prrkindustriessoundenthusi2948
      @prrkindustriessoundenthusi2948 3 года назад

      I agree, the elektrosluch is quite noisy, but it is very basic. Maybe some noise gating or post effects might calm it. There just be a lot of emf in the environment you’re testing in. The enclosure is a simple ABS case from Rapid Electronics in the uk, but anything will do. From memory I think it was a generic remote control enclosure. Good luck with the testing.

      I must admit to only using it with line level audio signals and not a guitar or passive turntable signal as yet. All I can say is the line level very much overpowered the visual signal, so it would be an interesting effect to try out with lower level signals. Good luck!

      Hiya Jordan, yeah you're going to need something with a line in to record. Ideally a portable digital recorder like the Tascam DR range, but an old mini disk or tape recorder would do it. iPhone is probably not going to work unless you have a fancy line in adaptor. Also use a long lead, the Ether will pick up the emf in the recording device too!!! Good luck!

It gets radio too and the Somo youtube vid talks of mysterious sounds in the middle of nowhere.... Super spooky! This other lad picked up sounds from trees too, using them as a sort of antenna. Lots for exploring.
