The singing imitating Vox Humana

I love your registration and interpretation, it is much more romantic and alive than by other organists on you tube chanel. In my opinion it should be so because it's much more interesting for listeners and for player - each Choral has its own story and character. Otherwise its borning and sounds like neo-baroque what probably wasn't Brahms intention. Bravo and thank you for the music!

This is my favorite version of this piece & quite possibly my favorite piece of music. I discovered it as a teenager. It was in rotation sandwiched between the Rolling Stones & Kiss! It is such an expressive performance full of energy & passion

Even if all these stops were actually identical (not that they could be) they would still sound different because they're in different acoustics and are recorded differently (mike placements etc.). So what strikes me is the degree of similarity among them. There are exceptions - the wood principals aren't nearly as 'prinzipalisch' (I think that's a word) as the metal stops, but in fact, the Hamburg example sounds more like a principal in this recording than in others I've heard. No question, we are not hearing any of these stops exactly as they were in their beginning, but they're all in the same ball park as we Amerikanern say.

Have had this album in my collection since I was a budding organist in high school, and 60 years later still enjoy it as much as when I first got it.

remember as a young man being in love with the version of the suites played by Pierre Fournier. At a certain point in the 90s, I don't remember the exact year, an advert appeared in a newspaper announcing that a Dutch cellist would play, in two days, all Bach's suites at the Palazzo della Cancelleria in Rome, my city. . I loved, I LOVE that music so much that I went to the concert only regretting that my idol Fournier hadn't come to perform it. I must say that I was not immediately able to follow the entire performance of Bylsma, it was so different from all the versions I had known up to that moment. But inside me I felt that there was something I wanted to explore further. I bought his '92 album and after a few listens I was in heaven. Since then I have listened to all subsequent recordings, live and in the studio and I consider Anner Bylsma to be a chapter apart in the performance of baroque music and brought the Suites to a level never reached before. Without taking anything away from the greatness of the interpretation of other great interpreters

May Virgil be on the right had side of Our Heavenly Father.... He was an inspiration to thousands of young and old alike.... He was the best at his craft in a full century.... I realize that is a "large order" but he was always error free and knew better then anyone else what voicings on the organ to use that brought out the best of everything he played.... He will never be forgotten and is now a legend ..... Rest in Peace Virgil.... WE LOVE YOU ALWAYS.....

The performance of the Tombeau for Logy is incredible. If there is one better, I haven’t heard it. Simply transcendental composing and performing.
